Hi guys,

I recently started a city on Talus north of Dearic called Felluca, and am enjoying being mayor a lot. However, I was curious as to what other mayors offer respective new citizens in order to develop the city further.

I've been advertising the city and giving a free house to every resident who joins, but so far I've only received 1 person interested.

What do you guys do to get people to join the city?

Thanks in advance.

That's exactly what I do.. free house (small) to every new citizen (if they don't already have one) .. and a 5k rebate on vehicle purchases from my vendor.. and of course, advertise.

I also have a couple residents that act as impromtu real estate agents.. that are actively working the field looking for bodies... since you'll find you won't be leaving home much.

Just be careful of the "freebies" .. there are some people that will try to bleed you dry. . I could tell stories...

I'll give some advice but i need to have a few questioned answered.

What is the current size?

How many guilds in the city?

What is the make-up of the city, crafters versus combat?

Are you near any Landmarks or a point of interest?

Best thing to do is be in a good location or offer something no one else has. It will be tough for awhile. Once you can get any specialization try and pick one no one else has. Most cities I know have gone for research specialization, maybe go for improved job market.

As the other guy said are you near a poi? Do you have any guilds in town. Getting a guild to move in can be huge. Also, consider dropping a faction base. The PVP can bring a ton of people to your area.

Well Basically Ihave my city like this

* Every new resident gets a free medium Naboo and 1 month maintenance

*If they harvest they need to donate 10% of resources to city and in return have access to grinding materials and other crafting needs

* Instead of trying to bribe people to join, pick selectively. Then your retention rate is higher.

* Host at least 1 city raid a month

* Offer Guild Membership

Thats it.Simple but semi-effective

Thanks for the tips guys.

My town is currently level 2 (Village), and is based about 1.3km west of Dearic, so it's easy to get to, even without a shuttleport at the moment.

As for specialization, thanks for the tips on that, I hadn't thought of it that way.

As for the type of city, well we seem to have a pretty even balance of crafters vs combatants, so I'm not sure which way to turn.

We have a guild there already, but I'll have to see if we can turn it into some sort of city guild.

Thanks again for all the help.
