i would expect it to be much like the cloning facility and the trainers - a money sink. but, it's more convenient than leaving dantooine for a garage.

I would definitly Like to see the garages have at least part of their fees go to the city. After all, the city does pay to maintain it It would also give smaller cities that extra bit of income that makes a big difference.

Has anyone figured out what a garage is for? Why on earth would you build one? The repairing ability of vehicles is called a SHUTTLEPORT, and I haven't heard of anyone using a garage since two days after vehicles went live.

They need to fix the bug that forces us to accept free repairs of our vehicles before they add something that no one will use like a "garage."

If a garage had roleplaying use, I would be all over it of course, but it is just a hunk of property that would be better used placing a garden or fountain.

That involves roughly the same amount of credits and takes a wait period. If my car gets disabled by pikets I would rather open it up next to a garage and dish out the few k rather then head to a shuttleport, dish out the 1k for a round trip ticket and wait it out, load, call the car, wait it out, load, store and call out the car. True that bug makes these less useful it does not remove their need or prowess. I just need to find a nice out of the way spot to get rid of those oil fumes and not piss off my high end realtors.

Oh and Riss, welcome back. I thought you didn't want to have anything to do with these boards thanks to baj getting the title and/or his name.

A response from the reds was that they wouldn't look to fix the shuttleport bug until players were able to adequately find repair facilities in their local areas. They were aware of two issues:

A) Players were having difficulty finding and/or there wasn't enough repair facilities on remote planets

B) The shuttleport bug was making repair facilities redundant.

When they fix A they can then move onto B without inconveniencing the players.

--When we get garages (which my citizens greatly desire) will they just be another gold sink? It would be nice if we could have something other than shuttleports to generate some cash for cities, especially for us who are not large enough to have a shuttleport.

The shuttle jumping trick DOES NOT WORK on Lok.

If it does, it never has for me so don't flame me.

I live on Lok and have tried it numerous times.

I think it has something to do with not going from NPC shuttle to a NPC shuttle.

(since Lok only has one NPC ship) it may not work from NPC to PC.

SO MY POINT

A garage would be BIG business to me on Lok, I can't coun't how many times I was forced to go off planet to fix my ride.

My luckby the time garages come, the shuttle trick will be fixed and all garages will be important.

I feel you flyn. My city is on Lok and there is NO garages there. It cost almost 3K to make a round trip to fix your vehicle. with the changes in shuttle landing/takeoff times you could fessibly be waiting 20 minutes just for the shuttle and then transit time back to where you were when it broke. I would much rather have a garage in my city than use the shuttleport bug.

Also, I believe the bug doesn't work from two shuttleports on the same planet, I believe it is an off planet bug.

Yeah our city is 8km from Nym's, but luckily we do have a shuttleport. However people that hunt out of our city constantly are annoyed by having to go to Theed just to get repairs.

Even Star Wars movies dont like NGE....

Yoda: Twisted by the Dark Side, young SWG has become. The game we played, gone it is... Consumed by the NGE.
Mace Windu(us): The customers will decide SWG's fate.
Supreme Chancellor(Devs): I *am* the customers!
Tiggs wrote: NGE is here to stay.
C-3PO: [walking away] I feel so helpless.
"And so it is" said Bail Organa as he left.
So this is how liberty is crushed...... by the sound of Tiggs Paws.
"NGE your breaking my heart!" Cries Amidala

I'll miss being a TK

I oppose the NGE and support Holocron Shug and Q-3p0's dream of the way SWG should be!

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, ?How can we do this and not make another EQ?? We didn?t want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we?ve created a system to make that happen."
