I read somewhere that they are putting a 2 or 6 week? timeout on citizens mandating that we have players physically log in to their houses regularly or they will lose citizenship....??? but i cannot find it in the publish seven notes posted on the main site.

Not to split hairs here but, The whole reason ppl had to get ghost citizens was to keep up with the player city levels being raised several months ago.....Now it seems that we may lose our city or at least drop a rank afterall....that totally blows....

Anyone have the real scoop here?

"The whole reason ppl had to get ghost citizens was to keep up with the player city levels being raised several months ago.."

The real scoop is this. There was no reason to get ghost homes. Cities like that will lose their slot, and cities like mine will take over.

End of line.

If you had to create a "ghost city" to get metro, go to your city hall's management terminal and click "Destroy." You were never ment to have a metro, and you need to make way for a real city.

I presently manage a 120+ citizen metro populated by real (well, virtually real), live, breathing citizens. It is not easy, but it is do-able. If you want easy, play pong.

Enough of the hot air. The present plan to loose citizens AND have their houses remain has me a little worried. Given an ininite amount of realestate, we can maintain 120+ citizens. We presently have a turn over of about 3 citizens a week. 90% of these are because of house poofage. 10% is from folks leaving on their own accord. Soon, we'll also be loosing folks to the 6 week rule. Initially, we will loose 10-15 by my count, and problobly 1-2 a week there after. Eventually, we will run out of space.

We need a tool to get rid of dead houses.

sorry wasnt looking for hostility here ... i have about 5 ghosts which was exactly the amount i needed at the time to maintain a level 2
city not a metro (not sure where you got that idea) when they raised the caps. Anyways, Im not only referring to those ppl im also referring to the peeps in my town that simply do not play that often...its none of my or SOE's buisness how often they log in to that character so long as they are paying their monthly dues.

My city (and im sure 95% OF The rest of the Player cities) have mostly ppl whom dont necessarily play every couple of weeks ...Several of my citizens havent been on in over a month ...the does not mean they are leaving the city or Quitting the game ....it simply means that they (unlike myself) have lives outside of

the video game universe. Who am I or for that matter YOU or SOE to question them on how offten they are going to log in. Let me Say it again.....

" SO LONG AS THEY ARE PAYING THEIR MONTHLY FEES IT IS NONE OF ANYONES BUSINESS HOW OFTEN THEY LOG IN"

And to punish a Player City and more directly a Politcian because his or her Citizens dont play often enough is simply ridiculous. And ultimately My Gameplay is being affected and all i wanted to do was have a nice little player city ....But First..... it was ok you can have a city but you need to waste valuable skill points to get a politician....FIne. Next, it was you need to have X amount of citizens to have any city perks....Ok I dealt with it. Then, it was oh wait now we want you to add 5-10 ppl to your city to keep what little citylike structures and toys you already have.....WHAT!! Now , Its YOU MUST FORCE PPL IN RL to Log in on a timely basis or else yet again we are taking your city away.......THIS IS A JOKE RIGHT???/ No. its not its yet another reason for ppl to avoid and Roleplaying atmosphere and simply go out and kill Mobs and collect badges.....Blah

Sorry for the outburst but I have just about had it.

I'll cool off and try this thing out again tomorrow

I absolutly agree with this. Amidst all the hot air in my first post in this thread, I forgot to mention that. Also, I will ammend my original post to state: All you that have level 5 ghost cities need to go to the city hall control terminal and hit "destroy." While your level 2 semi-ghost city is wrong on the same prinicipal, it is covered by the "so-what" clause. hehe.

It will -not- be changed to two weeks. According to the devs it was a "typo" in an email and this issue will never see live. The player activity time frame should still be six weeks.
