Newb politician question here... sorry if it has been asked / answered already.
Obviously you get xp for votes.
But here's my question:
I have 61 citizens in my town. This week I got 3900 xp. Does that mean that you only get the xp when people actually vote for you? In other words, if people don't vote at all, that vote would count for the incumbent. Why didn't I get 6100 xp?
Thanks in advance.

People do not have to vote weekly in the election if they want to keep the current mayor. Their votes by default each week is for the current mayor.

So are you saying I shoud have received 6100 xp then? Cause I only got 3900 in a 61 citizen city. And no one ran against me.
Thanks.

I have had the same problem on Tarquinas. The answer I got from theCSR was that you won't get the exp until the people vote for you. I know for a fact that only one or two people have voted since I became mayor, and that no one has run against me. So wouldn't that mean that I should have only gotten like 200 ponts. Anyway when I replied back to the CSR about the incumbent getting all the non-votes, I was told that it is a realitively new thing and they are just learning about it themselves.

Nice.
I wonder how long that would last if it was combat. "I soloed a Krayt and got 200 xp. It took me a week to do it, but I finally beat the big lizard. I sent a question to a CSR and they said that it was a new thing for one person to be able to solo a Krayt. Sorry!"

You should get 100 xp per vote received.
It doesn't matter if the person physically voted that week, or ifthe vote"defaulted" to you as the incumbent.
Try opening another CSR ticket, and specifically TELL (don't ask) them that you did not receive all the XP you were supposed to. Give them the name and location of your city, the exact time of your city update (like from the timestamp on the "You won the election!" email), how much XP you received, and how much XP you SHOULD have received. Ask them to verify in their logs the missing XP, and ask for a reimbursement.
They have done this in the past for Mayors who lost XP due to bugs, so I would imagine they still do. As long as you provide them with all the information they need to verify it... (and you get a CSR willing to take the time to look into it.)
Good luck!

CSR's are idiots without power unless they are on a power kick. Did you hit some sort of cap? I thought it was a huge cap and I have never hit it but I didn't hold on to xp.

I received a response from the CSR. I was told that you only get XP for actual votes... not for "proxy votes" (votes that you get when the citizen never votes at all that go to the incumbent.) So, 3900 XP is all I get.
