How come when I go examine other cities I see they have a funcional shuttle but only 48 citizens?
Obviously I'm guessing they HAD 55 at one time,
but isn;t it gonna poof?
How long before a shuttle poofs when you fall under 55?

I have also noticed this in other cities. Mos Vegas on Tempest went down to 35 residents and they stil have a shuttle port!

My city usually is on the verge of 53 to 60 citizens. I think if the city is under 55 and the city updates then the city loses the shuttle, but if by update time they have their 55 they keep it.

I have heard that the way it works is thus....
If you get 55 citizens at some point you will then be able to place a shuttleport... given your mayor is experienced enough.
As far as I can tell, you only lose the shuttleport if the city radius ever shrinks such that it closes in closer than where the shuttleport is placed. And as far as I can tell, the only thing that will actually change with citizen count is the city radius... so place your rank enabled structures in close and tight and you will likely have no real fear of losing them... at least until they fix this...

Ok when is update time?
The same day we get our XP?
I ask this dumb question because I happen to know of a few cities that have been under 55 for weeks

Awesome Post!!
This needs to be addressed right away. If this is true, then the first 15 minutes of that first day is continuing to dictate who has a shuttle, and who doesn't. These first 10 cities just aren't dying.
<--- fully supports a fluctuating Player City environment.
<----- Mayor of the oldest City on the server (13 houses on 3rd day of release), 105 residents within 300 meters non Bot, and STILL no shuttle.

my understanding is if you have 55 you get to place the shuttle port, if you go under 55 as of the update you then are charged 75k creds for being below the level needed to have the shuttleport, IF you get 55 again for the next update, then you keep it, if not you lose it. There could be a bug that does not take the shuttle port away after that week period or they could last day before the election have enough people each week to register for the update to make the total at the time of update to be 55.

The shuttleport has been placed when the city was Rank 4 (55 citizens). If it dropped below 55 citizens, and therefore lost its rank 4, the shuttleport's maintenance has increased a lot. A very wealthy city can keep its shuttleport even after having lost the needed rank. When there's not enough money in the city treasury anymore to pay for this increased maintenance, the civic structures will start to disappear.
Unless the city has huge income or a big amount of money in its treasury, it is unwise to keep a structure for whichthe city doesnt have the needed rank anymore.
