Thread: CSR BeverlyY Told Me This about Politician XP!

Screw the cut and pasting or screenshots. Heres the quick rundown.
Last week our mayor decided to switch servers, so I have an alt character w/ 2nd account I decided to take up the mayor spot since nobody in the guild wanted.
This was the weekend of 2/28 when I got mayor. 27 citizens. I got 14 votes giving me 1400 xp when I hit mayor. I thought ok, 100xp for each person that voted for me.
A few days ago, our city updated again, 3/6 is the date. Since nobody was running for mayor, I figured i'd log on and get 2700xp. 100xp for each citizen now because now all votes should be default to me since nobody is running.
Wrong. I only got 1600. Nobody voted for me because of the default voting system.
I put in a customer service ticket and was told the following.
There MAY have been changes to the voting system. Experience is only granted to the politician for each vote from citizens that actually go to the ballot box and vote for you. And that my experience would not be reimbursed anymore because of this new voting system they have. And was told to please delete my ticket and good luck and have a nice day and thanks for playing Star Wars Galaxies.
My question is this, someone needs to run against you, then everyone go and vote for you just so you get the full xp? That the default experience system they have (supposedly before) has been changed to this new stuff? I read all up and down these boards and seen a post just a couple posts down from this about someone who's having the same problem.
Hopefully the Correspondant here can assist with this and let us know if there is such a new change or is the CSR being lazy?!
Thanks in advance, and as SWG always says "Sorry for the inconvenience".
Stay Cool!
P.S. I did not delete the ticket because I want confirmation first before doing so.
I have yet to have anyone vote for me via the ballot box terminal and I got the full XP amount. What she is telling you is false. No one has ever needed to vote for me as the incumbent mayor. The incumbent mayor automatically gets all votes unless someone changes their vote via the ballot box and only if someone is running against you.
If you got 1600 XP while having 27 citizens then either A) There is a bug and the extra 1100 XP should be added, or B) You now have only 16 people in your city, I'd definitely check on that.
Thats the impression I was under. Since nobody is running against you, you would get 100xp for each citizen in the city since all votes default to you. Yes there is 27 citizens in our little village.
The only thing I can think of is this....
The first week I got 1400 xp because of the mayor race. I got 14 votes (13 people didnt vote at all).
I spent 1000 of it to get the ability to 'manage militia'. Leaving me with 400.
This last week I get 1600 xp (nobody ran against me, so I shoulda gotten 2700 xp). Add the 400 left over from last week and that leaves me w/ 2000xp.
I read somewhere (I think it may have been the faq) that some CSR's are under the impression that 2,000 xp is the cap, when in reality its 20,000. Looking at it logically, if 2000 is the cap, how would one ever get to a 2nd tier branch in politician when 2500 xp is required.
I think perhaps I got hit w/ the 2000 xp bug.
But that still doesnt justify what the CSR Beverly told me. Did all you current mayors who had nobody running against you get the full experience from the 'default' votes?

From my experience - most CSR know little about Player Cities. The SWG policy is that they are not to interfere with Player Cities, thus some CSRs are not willing to work with you. Be firm - continue to logg tickets, and ask them to double check their answers with their supervisors (yup, supervisors). If you stay polite and don't get aggravatedthey will listen and make it work.
Don't say I told you this
but CSR Beverly is confused about something. There is some voting deisng changes coming in Publish 7. But that change is a coding change and is meant to fix some of the buggs (from what CSRs told me). You should be reinburst for all your XP - that is one thing CSR are allowed to do.
So, keep on logging tickets and chatting with CSR (yelling and blaming won't work
)

ok, the xp cap depends on skills you have. if you just have novice politician then the first skill you are going for costs 1k xp then the cap is 2k xp, if the skill is 5k xp the cap is 10k and so on. so if you are just novice then the cap is 2k xp. I am almost master and I get xp for each citizen because noone is running against me. I may be off on my numbers but I think it is close to 2 times the xp of the highest skill you are going for next that uses X amount of xp. and if you have all four of one column then the cap is maxed at 2x the amount of xp it tooo to getthe 'whatever' IV skill you have
According to the FAQ there is a 20x (yes, twenty) cap on politician xp. Politician xp is very different from other types of xp since you can only get them in large chunks - and only once a week.
Here is the response I just got from CS: "The incumbent should get votes and experience for every citizen that either directly votes for him/her and for every citizen that does not vote.
If you have specific examples of a time when this did not happen then get me:
Mayor Name
City Name
City Hall Location/Planet
Date of the Election
Number of Citizens at time of Election
Experience Granted
Any challengers that ran against the incumbent.
Get me that and I'll look into any specific cases."
If you would please send me this information in a PM, I will forward it to CS. Thanks.
City Name Riders Gulch
City Hall Location/Planet intrepid server dantooine -4675, 51
Date of the Election this past friday (or saturday not possitive)
Number of Citizens at time of Election 36
Experience Granted 2000 (had 400 b4 election)
Any challengers that ran against the incumbent. none only runner
Ok Bajeezus, I sent you a private mail.
Also I got an update on my ticket that I was supposed to delete. I'm to contact a CSR via email and meet with him/her ingame to get this fixed. I'll let ya know all how it goes so future mayors have ammo when dealing with issues like this.
Thanks!
Stay Cool!
However, its a known bug and is being worked on, but even tho i'm the incumbent mayor, the previous mayor is still getting experience for the people that didnt vote for me the first time around. This is supposed to be fixed here soon, hopefully next publish (7).
