Thread: DEV HELP NEEDED: MIA MAYORS/6 MONTH INACTIVE CHARACTER DELETION

Hi,
I have a serious issue. Our current mayor has been MIA since late June Early July. Because of the enormous default encumbant vote it is impossible to replace her without recruiting 80+new citizens.
When her account finally gets deleted for inactivity what happens to
1: The City
2: Whoever is currently running against her

The problem they are having right now with the 6 month deletion is with our brave and noble soldiers that are off to war. Some have been gone for longer than 6 monthes. Now imagine if they got thier character deleted for serving thier country would that not be messed up? SOE is playing the safe road.
Now I know you want a real answer on your main concern which is the one on all mayors minds thier cities. Here are a couple of things I could see happening personally. Take this for what it is worth and that is a personal opinion from someone playing with SOE for years.
1. Mia gets deleted. Town vanishes if no one runs against her. SOE will not have a town without a mayor.
2. Two people run against Mia. Who will win? Computer can not make up it's mind and a CSR will not do it either. Mayor is gone town vanishes.
3. One person runs against Mia. She is getting incumbant vote. She is deleted. CSR will not do anything because the town wanted her and he is not sure if the
townwants you in office. Town is gone.
Personal opinion again there. My best advice is ride it out if you really want the city. Let her and city hall go *poof*. Build a new city on it's ashes. Problem you will face is that all of the 80 people that are in the same boat you talk about will do the same thing to the new mayor and he can never leave office.

CS and Dev help with player cities is a rare event. The problem is that there are so many other townships or lower waiting for space to open so they may become a city. One of the resons why CSR's wont help is because if they allow a city that has 100 people with only 20 active they are working against the townships that have a higher activity rate then the city. I have to say it but the system works, however i still support a resign command for the mayor so he may quit politics.

I had a few freinds head off to Iraq to fight, and when they did, they made preperatins for loosing thier account... they either gave the log in info to a friend of passed all their stuff to a friend and will accept the character loss.
As far as he city goes, my suggestion is to be ready when the wipe comes along with a new city hall deed, lof in at server up and place a new one if needed. Worst case scenerio.... you loose a few structures (which I know for a fact you can replace...lol) and the treasury (now that'll suck). But if your set to go at server up you won't loose your city slot.... not sure how the ranking would work, but I don't think you have much to worry about on dantooine
