I haven't dropped a few statues etc. lately but there was always a "too close to"thing for statues and fountains. Streetlamps weren't so if that changed then it is kinda crappy afterall stoops need some lovin'. Go into deed mode to see where the building's no build zone (yellow) ends and take a look at the no build zones around statues and fountains. Try and figure out where it'll fit and excepting homes butted against each other there is a lot of places where it'll work.
If they limited the space between statues and fountains preventing a doubling up of them, well then yes that is pretty crappy. I've got a few statues that are butted up against each other (the 2 sentry types facing opposite directions for example) and in more then a few of them I have streetlamps inside of statues to make them glow at night. If they restricted this then it seems like my secondary statue park over by the merchant district won't be anywhere near as nice as the one by city hall.

Well once again SOE did something extremely stupid. I am trying to decorate my town but now I can no longer make it look nice. What they want me to put stuff where no one ever goes? Great job!
If no one knows what I am talking about there is now a boundary around all structures city or not that you can no longer decorate. That means no more statues by city halls. No more making our towns a nice place to be. Oh and this also includes other items. Like in my town we have a fountain with a statue in it that looks great. No more of this. It will tell you that you are too close to (insert item name).
Why do we even bother to try and make our towns nice if they are going to force us to put decorations outside of our main town past the housing where no one goes? I am on Lok and tried to spruce up our shuttle port and our guild hall by placing statues and a tant sun idol but I was always too close. I think you have to be about 25 meters or so away from anything else maybe more.
I am so close to giving up this is not right. I know that some people use them to block people. Make it so you can walk through them instead of tieing our hands behind our back and decorating our town border that does no good for anyone.
