Im afraid someone is trying to overrun my city, (after much investigateing) and was wondering
1, if they do something drastic, what im scared of is them ( guild ) moving in at once and overthrow me, will the city weekly timer reset? so i will have time left or will it stay at one day or 6 hours or whatever it is?
2, I think they want something more like their own location, so would they be able to destroy the hall or something right away and make a new city and demolish my slot? or will they have to wait and will it give me a chance to remake a city?
3, is there even i way to destroy a city hall? im really scared of guild's =/
please respond...
If your mayor and you have zoning enabled no one canplace building inthe city limits unless you authorize it or a malitia member. Unless if you gave the "guild"malitia abilities. that can be resolved buy removing them as malitia members. there is no way a guild or any stray personcan just walk in a take your city without being elected.
If yourthe mayer you aretheonlyperson able to destroy city hall unless your city goes bankrupt or lose the needed citizens.
There is no email notification telling you if someone is running against you but only citizens of the town can run for office and they must have novice politician.
And lastly why are you afraid of guilds, some of them are a little over the top but most of them are good guys just playing the game.

well just for future reference though? can you say that my first question someone did have zoning rights... and moved everyone in, thats in a guild, would maybe the politican of the guild ,deciding to run against me would the weekly timer reset? cause this could be a swift undetectable thing? maybe even when im offline which worries me, and maybe you know what i mean but i dont guite trust all my friends with zoning rights but i dont want to take that away from them...
I hardly doubt a whole guild can sneak in, you or your malitiawould have to grant zoning rights to every guild member. even if they happened to drop a guild hall onlythe person that dropped it can declare citizenship in it. I alsosuggest limiting the malitia to only people you trust. Even if someone begs to be a malitia member. In our city we only recruite citizens that are willing to joing our guild.

also, if someone else is given mayor do they have to wait a week or so to destroy the city so another mayor might be elected or can a BRAND NEW mayor just blow up a city?!?!?

If a vote is cast against me and i ban someone who voted against me?
does their vote still count for that week?
only citizens can vote and you cant ban citizens.
If you have people on your militia you dont trust, take them off.
Take them off now.
Only have people on militia you can trust with zoning.
I wouldnt worry about the last second coup attempts but if you think they are going to have people move to town to take it from you , dont give them the ability to grant zoning!

Best advice on this thread. Don't take the risk if you don't trust someone.
... so I get to come in and add to the paranoia
it's possible that if one person gets zoning that wasn't taken away, they can place houses and /transferstructure them to others. these new folks can now declare as citizens, and the houses are legit under current SOE rules (heck, I do that myself to control placement)
if you don't trust someone with zoning don't give them the rights. revoke zoning rights (it's a toggle) immediately after house placement, or place the structure for the person.
