Ok, I would like some input on if you guys think it will work or not.
I am currently the mayor of a city, and have been for 10 months. We have roughly 70% inactive. My idea is to have the person that the city thinks is good enough and trustworthy enough to replace me to pick up novice politician, be on the ballot for several weeks with people voting for them to build up their skills. When their skills are as high as mine are, i will drop all politician thereby forcing me to be removed from the ballot which should shift all votes in the city to the only person left on the ballot.
Am i correct in my line of thinking or will this just screw up the city?

dude my understanding is that you are not at all allowed to drop novice politician while mayor of a player city.
sorry...

p.s. -- by "understanding" I mean "guess without any form of proof to back me up whatsoever.....in fact I have no idea"

dropping all of poli will not remove you as acting mayor... To date the only way known is by vote
it sux, but its true... and yes you can drop poli even if you are mayor

Also too I thought that vote automatically went for the incumbent, so with 70% inactive voting populace then you wouldn't be able to get out anyways.

Dropping all Politician skills will not drop you from the race. You can do just about everything short of removing the city hall and you will still be Mayor.
The only way to change the Mayor of a Player City is to have them voted out. With 70% inactive, you don't have a hope. The only thing you can hope for is that a lot of those inactives are removed with the account Purge happens.

If i drop all Poli, will everything stay as it is in the city (City Spec, Banks, Shuttle, Cloner etc.)?

Yes, you can drop novice politician & everything will remain. However, you won't be able to make any changes...you can remove things but not put anything back. Trainers are the biggest issue I can see with this. I keep enough politician to be able to switch out trainers as needed for my citizens.
