Thread: Militia HQ and further possibilities
Keeping in line with the "Buildings - A Wishlist" thread; I would like to propose the following and get feedback.
Many people have suggested a Militia Headquarters as a new city building, and I too would like to see one.
But I would like to add that the Militia HQ be a place where militia members could buy NPC militia as "militia pets" to help them in defending the town. Also, the mayor could "hire" NPC militia to defend and patrol the city and auto-defend citizens (at a cost to the city, of course). This would be especially useful in very remote and dangerous areas of planets; afterall, every city has guards, and there could be times when player militia members simply are not on. Add to this, any mayorally purchased NPC militia if killed would re-spawn after a set period of time (you are paying for a guard's service, not a particular guard). Player purchased "pets" would, obviously, not respawn when killed and function similar to faction pets.

I'm glad to see that others like my ideas.
As an addendum to my original post I would add that owning and controlling militia pets should function similar to that of droids; not faction pets or creature pets. IE. anyone in the militia should be able to buy a militia pet.
Further; militia pets should only be callable and useable within 50-100m of the city limits.
I think they're gonna leave Starports out for now so people still have some reason to travel to the original cities. I also think they'll be available come SE time.
I like the militia pet idea... but only inside city limits as that is the only place /warn will work. I am under the impression that even if you're in mid combat....if they leave city.....the fight will be over. Man, now I want a really cool milita HQ with a bunch of wooks followin me around in the streets....
