Well, we have the thread that says what they want to do, we ahve all voiced opinions on the issue...its time to come to a compromise and give SOE some ideas they may not have thought of yet...perhaps there is still a chance to save ourselves from the mudslide that has been pushed upon us....
I would like to throw out a couple ideas and see what the feedback is like.
1) buildings owned by players that are active on the server would remain as they are.
2) stop the pulling of maint from the bank.
3) when a player doesnt log on the server for 3 months, their house is considered abandoned. (notice..this is server specific, not account specific...hopes to aid in moving housing by players that have moved to another server)
4) for the first 2 months that a house is adandoned, mayors have an optionto move it once from where it is to another spot in the city with an email going to the owner of the new location. The house remains abandoned. If the player returns, the house is reactivated, but remains in its new location. The cycle is then restarted.
5) for the 3rd month after a house is abandoned, the mayor can condemn it and have it removed from the city entirely, but with all items contained inside being placed in the owners bank with the vendor storage code that was used before.
6) after the player has been gone for 6 months, the game will remove it in the same manor that the mayor would in month 5 if the mayor has not done so by the end of the 6th month.
Anything to add? I think this would be a pretty fair plan for all...notice goes out, we as mayors have levels of flexabilty...did I miss anything?
I posted this in the other thread, but fealt it would be better to have as a seperate thread so we can discuss it and other ideas without hijacking that thread.

I totally agree with you about the mayor being given the authority over "ghost" houses. Hell its time I think for a politician revamp

However lets not lsoe focus.
Any additions or changes to politician will not stop our cities being screwed.
This patch CANNOT go live UNLESS alternatives for us are in the same release
These discussions are "vaporware" with no commitment.
We need to ensire this does not go live without someting in addition that is in place

Thats why I want to get alternatives started here....SOE will be more likelytolisten if we show them alternatives, not just say its the end of the world.
We need to hash out an idea to counter this mess they are putting on us, and show, we as politicians, can work together to save our cities...our citizens expect that of us.
