Greetings,
The town I live in has a very dedicated mayor who we're all very happy with. I'm the head of militia and the closest thing the town has to a "second in command". However, now that politician is zero skill points, I wondered about taking novice politician, so that I can step in as a back-up care-taker mayor. However, our current mayor has been the mayor for many months, and has built his skills up. Our city is rank 3 (township), and we have med center, cantina, various decorations, bank and garage.
I would just like to clarify what would happen if a new mayor with lesser skills took over the Town. Would the things the new mayor is not qualified for disappear?
Thanks for reading.

once these buildings are placed you do not need to retain or have the skills to keep them.
I moved the mayor of our town from one of my characters to another and it did not affect any of our city structures. (the new mayor was only novice)
You will lose the ability to manage the milita until you gain the xp to train in that box as well as place terminals and trainers.
Also, someone else may need to verify this but I would check on if you lose your ability to be registered on the galactic map. I seem to remember having some problem with that but it may have jsut been a fluke.
Hope this helps, let me know if you need more info or clarity.

Nothing happens to the current city and structures if a Novice Mayor takes over. You will just not be able to place certain structures (or items) or manage the militia until you get the level that allows you to do so. So do not pick up the shuttle hoping to move it until you have the ability to place it.
