Thread: Tips for politicians an on going list
My quick tip!
Whenlifting a city decoration, be sure to "remove" it using the radial menu before pulling it up.
If you just pick up the structure, it seems to count against your city's total even though it might be sitting forgotten in your backpack/storeroom.
When you've finished dabbling with your decorations, check your backpack and right-click on any city items left over. Correctly lifted objects bring upthe "place decoration" option.
Incorrectly lifted objects still have the "remove" option on the radial and may still be taking up precious slots/funds.
Please delete/correct if this is not the case.

During the search for our Top 5 issues I've seen a lot of requests for systems that are either already in the game or that can be created with the ingame features ... here are some of my tips, I hope you add yours ...
Copy & Paste
You can enable Pasting into SWG and Copying out of it ...go to options (ctrl+o) -> Controls -> Keymap -> All - and rebind the options "Chat Edit Copy" and "Chat Edit Paste" to Keycombinations of your choice (I have put my character sheet on shift+ctrl+c and the map on shift+ctrl+v and have copy and paste on the windows standard of ctrl+c and ctrl+v)
Log your conversations
Type /logChat ... or just /log and all your chats will be saved to a text file in one of your SWG Folders ... in SWG/profiles/[AccountName]/[ServerName]/[CharacterName]_chatlog.txt you will find everything with timestamp and Chat Channel it was posted in
City Chat
Create a simple Macro to create and join a public or even privat chat that even has a Message that can be used as "Message of the Day" ...
/chat create SWG.Gorath.Chat.KC 0 1 "\#3399ffKheraba-City.de \#ffffff- Big Event in Cantina today";
/pause 1;
/chat join SWG.Gorath.Chat.KC;
... for a public chat - and for private:
/chat create SWG.Gorath.Chat.KC 0 0 "\#3399ffKheraba-City.de \#ffffff- City Members Only";
/pause 1;
/chat join SWG.Gorath.Chat.KC;
/chat invite PlayerName01 SWG.Gorath.KC;
/chat invite PlayerName02 SWG.Gorath.KC;
/chat invite PlayerName03 SWG.Gorath.KC;
...
Inform your citizens
You can drop Travel Packs into the city hall ... you can change the name of these Travel Packs so changing the Message every citizen can see looking at this item ... Travel Packs are being used to show messages for some time now.
You can give droids certain names that point to joining the chat or that give a certain message and let them patrol the main city area (like market place in front of city hall)
You can put up a vendor with crafted items that have a message in their name ... e.g. waypoints to shops in the city, times of next events, times of the mayor being online and in the city open for questions ...
