Mos alianza updated this weekend.

We were dropped back to city status last week due to some of the original house placed blowing up due to those folks not being in game anymore and such. This also prevented me, by 6 votes, of getting master politician But the bright side is that one of the house that dissapered allowed me to move the mayor mansion to a better location allowing me to serve my people better. The launch of mosalianza.com has sparked on of our members to launch and independent liberal publication called the Alianza Gazette. I sat down for and interview yesterday and I think I did pretty well even though I myself think that the interpretation of the interview is a bit scewed. But that is why it is an independent newspaper. Because in any given free non-opressive society you have to have an open mind and respect the opinion of others, even if they want to put that opinion in print. So in a bold move I linked Osons newspaper to the City website but not without a disclaimer. The treasury cleared 1.9 million credits in dontations so it looks like the donation program is going to work well. Although I am concidering turning on the property tax again just because the citizens want even more decorations and such. Also I had to yell at one of my malitia and hand out some /citypardons due to him using the cityban for personal reasons but all is back to normal with that. That was my week in politics.

take care!

New Unity, Naboo, Test Center

what a week! we have a somewhat famous crafter that wants to move near our city, and he wanted me to change the city specialization from manufacturing (what our ex-mayor left us at) to research. since this is an important decision, I set up a "poll" on our city/guild forum. most people are actually against changing our city specialization in favor of some type of "fix" for our empty vendor problem, which I'm still trying to investigate. the tents are our ex-mayor's, and we've agreed that letting the tent decay and poof is our last resort. for now we're going to put the specialization change on hold and concentrate on improving our "empty vendor" problem.

when I made the post I mentioned above, I wrote that our treasury is no longer gaining, and might be dropping slightly. so I guess someone went and donated a bunch of money (think 2 mil) into our treasury. I can't complain because it's money, but that messed up my internal ledger and creates a false sense of security for everyone else in the city. they're used to having someone else take care of finances within the city (namely, me, although i contribute no money myself since i spend most of my time mayoring instead of hunting), and our city hunts have been slowing down since the militia member in charge of it has been busy irl. I really want my cititzens to understand what it means to be a community (sharing our success and our problems)

we've had a few troublemakers this week... one of them decided to tell tcpa that I'm a nazi (which technically is impossible, wrong race), then said he wants to cut himself after receiving no sympathy from tcpa (which is usually non-NU-friendly, guess that guess is *that* annoying), moments after he told me it's just a game. he then proceeds to complain on the forums (thread was deleted), and when I pointed out that he was being a jerk to a combination of the city's mayor, the cantina owner, and the tailor correspondent, he posted an apology . *shrug*

the second person... well, the screenies arehere. this is pretty much what I have to deal with on a weekly basis, and while I can handle them, it's not exactly a good use of my time =/ people refuse to believe that a city on TC *can* have rules, and if they don't agree with them they're not forced to stay. as I've told them... if they value NU and what we have to offer, be it entertainers, missions, etc., think twice about being a jerk. that's the fastest way out of our city

so now that someone padded the city treasury, I'll try not to worry about it for a while. We're still looking for someone to help Jeave (our city hunt planner) with his duties, we welcomed a few new citizens, and hopefully we can clean out those empty barking vendors. yikes!

Rogue, Corellia, Flurry

We got enough votes to to get the old mayor (who had to quit suddenly) out and get me elected. w00t! I'm in the process of balancing the budget and had to remove some of the flashier gardens and streetlamps in order to get the treasury under control. We are currently deciding how to earn the city a little more money outside of raising taxes and we are talking about a specialization already, but I need more XP to get there. Busy first week for a new politician.

small update on mr troublemaker-malitia-guy...

He has gotten worse in the last few days I had to revoke malitia from him. I decided to make it a public statement about it seing as many of the residence were telling me that its him or them. So I did the best thing I could I kicked him from our guild, pulled his malitia rights and told him in spatial with many standing around that granted I cannot make him leave, but that I thought I would be in his best interest to pull his house and find another city to live in. Now understand this guy is the total griever type so I was taking a big leap of faith here. He pulled dhis house 30 mins later (/sigh-of-relief) but then proceeded to spam guild chat with the guild chat bug for the next 4 hours eventually he left.

We really need a game mechanic for dealing with these things better. This could have worked out alot worse.

Mesric Sanctuary, Tatooine (Starsider)

Our New Loot Vendor is a success. We asked all the city members to donate whatever spare loot they could for auction to build the city treasury. Everyone came through with a little something and some donated some really nice things (the force crystal didn't last long on the vendor ) the money is going into the treasury and thanks to this effort we haave several weeks paid up now instead of running close to being short every week. (And all of it coming out of my pocket.)

if you thought *this* was bad, you should've seen what he said to me the day after the incident... he was asking me everything from where i live, what i do, to what exactly is computer science O.o

I keep trying to explain to him that I (really don't) care about his rl stuff, if he acts like a jerk in game, we treat him as such. *shrug* so Ahsidh told him to talk to me for unbanning, I told him to talk to Ahsidh about cantina unbanning, and I'm gonna keep him on the city one for a while. guess it's not going anywhere soon *smirk*

- Citizenship stays at a steady 160

- Open "Twin Malls" having 2 PA Hall's facing eachother with 30+ vendors inside each. A shuttleport and a series of tents creates a virtual square.

- Placed 2nd Rebel base in city to increase rebel presence

- I remain as Mayor since Player Cities first arrived but periodically drop Politician for a PVP template but every other month pick it up to do updates and such to city.

- City budget of 5.7 million remains balanced.
