Thread: Creature Lair spawns and City

I'm mayor of a soon rank III city north of Theed on the chimeara server, we have 40 citizens and more that intressted to move in mainly becuse of one important thing. We are a neutral/imperial town and as we all know faction terminals is a high level skill so we bought a faction base and placed it right outside town.


Now to the issue, around our townthere are creature lairs spawning, often very close to the building so when somone go past the drag entire groups of red cons into it. We could have lived with that, not that we liked it but we had some control. But then some people started exploiting the imperial base to kill of those creatures with the base defenses and soon a warning arrived from GM about the exploiting..


So without much chosethe guy that bought destroyed it, people would not really stop come there and use it for exploiting...


So we are a bit angry that we lost one of our main trademarks also that it possible for creatures to spawn that close to a city. We can kill them, and 4 new lair come up.


Well what can I say, expect that we might lose some citizen, and the lair pain will keep kill our citizens, who wanna have a red con lair in a city?


The dev should add a zone outside each town that prevent lairs from spawn, or one day somone will wake up and have 12 very deadly animals that send you to the pearl gates.

I have the same problem. I have hurton laird spawning all the time. Once there was three lairs in close proximity to each other. The way i did this was send the Malitia in the kill them. They are the city's police force let them deal with wild and danergous animals. Gawd knows when the patch hits there wont bemuch else for them to do.

It is due to how spawning works. The more busy an area is the more mobs spawn in response to them and the more powerful they are or in groups bigger mobs spawn.

You should see our rank 5 busy city on lok. The outer radius is a blockade of death with kimos and nasty shooty droidekas all over the bloody place. I generally burstrun/gallop out of town to get past the first 500 meters to 1km.

I will tell you our rank 1 week was exciting with 10 to 15 kimogillas just over 150 meters from our city hall.


Clearing out these spawns is one main job for miliita we generally have some on call combat folks who will go forth and beat the heck out of whatever offending spawn is blocking house placement. Once the city grows it becomes less and less of an issue.

My gawd Kimo's really wow. I feel lucky my only problem is hurton. Ihope your crafter have close harvestors, well maybe not too close lol.

My city is on Dantooine, and We fully expected this, and actually welcome it. No greater tourist deterent than a bunch of Frenzied Grauls running through the streets! LOL


Also it may be a pain, but it isn't that hard to go around them. A pain sometimes yes, but a small inconvenience.

Hehe many crafters do have their harvesters close but most like me plant ours farther away which seems odd but is generally much safer. Again due to the spawning system dropping harvesters in the back end of nowhere makes them far easier to get to and work with once there. If you have a mount and keep your eyes open its easy enough.



Even with the blockade of death around our city and dodgin kimos and droidekas I have not yet died at our city on lok yet. I have gotten incaped a few times by droidekas but they are lazy buggers and often will not db.

Well I could tell everyone to swim around the problem, my town is out on a pansacola.


But tourism seem to drop when we have large hungry mobs just outside the main route

its an exploits???? how so? we have two faction bases (facing north and south) and hurton spawn constantly... our militia would be busy 20/7 killing those things and do nothing else


I guess when we get to level 5.. they will be another 100m further.. (btw.. there is a space of 100m from our base to "non-city" area where these mob spawns...


and they are ALWAYS there... no matter how fast we kill them.

my town on dant had a vortior lizard(cant remember what type) it agroed me and i ran in the nearest building, the town hall. now i hit peace and hoped it would go away. but it seemed to like the porch of the town hall and decided to stay there. so i hit it with mind shot 2 then ran inside and repeated this. but when its mind was sown 3/4 of the way its whole bar grew back in an instant. this made me mad. i burst ran away from the town hall and called for reinforcements from a ch with 2 grauls. when she gets there its gone. i think the troubles over. i walk inside to check how much longer the wait till city update is a few minutes later. and just inside is guess who. thats right. now i get slain and now im mad. i send a tell to the ch but she went to dath so she wont be there for awhile. i send a tell to a bud and he helps me but hes not an elite proffesion of anything so we decide its best to wait for the ch. so when she gets there we take out the pest and finnally the troubles over. this event happens again a few days after this except the ch is right there so its no trohe next but it was kinda crazy.

Same problem for us. We have a lair of bocatts spawning right in our city center. To start with we thought nothing of it. We killed them then placed out city. After placing buildings they came back. We contacted DEVS and basically in a polite manner go the impression they didnt give a **edit** lol


We cant move our city now and have no idea what we can do about it.

Hello My main, Alasrii, is mayor of Sandstorm city on Tatooine (Starsider) and we have the same problem. We have two sections of town that are overrun with things. The East side of town always has some type of mobs from Desert demons, grizzled dewbacks, dune lizards.. all higher level things that we enjoy taking out. And the west side of town is always overrun with squills. We take it in stride and have even had a squill pop up on the stage of our theatre.. I have a pic somewhere with that. What I would do if I was you is go to the opposite side of town and place your imp base and the faction terminal. We found that the northernmost and southernmost sides of town never have problems. If you want to stop the spawn though.. kill everything in the area and immediately put a house down near them before they respawn. That will help a little bit. We had to call in reinforcements when someone wanted to move into the eastern side of town b/c the whole place had to be cleared out. We have around 15 people killing everything and waiting for the moment when everything died.. and then bam.. 3 people placed their houses

do you have the name of the "dev" you talked to? if you can find the name, I'll hand the issue over to a CSR.
