This is an "out of character" update just to make sure everyone knows what is about to get started in Apotheon, Naboo on the Corbantis Server.
Apotheon is the largest neutral city in the galaxy. Something is wrong with it's mayor, and his extended visits to Coruscant have opened the door for feuding Merchant Houses to vie for control of the city. Several Merchant Houses are being set up over the next few days, andwe encourage your group to consider participating if you have not already declared to do so! At some point as early as late Spring, the current mayor is expected to fall from powerwith theascension of the strongest Merchant Houses.
What is at stake is literally the control of the largest neutral city in the galaxy. Game play will occur on many different levels including immersion (role-playing), voting results dynamically changing the outcome of the city (beyond the current code base!) as Merchant Houses wrestle for control, limited PvP around selected events, quests and events, and a chance to actually become a living and breathing character in the Star Wars Universe! If you believe you are more than a profession and stats, this is something you will enjoy!
The evolving storyline is expected to take many weeks to complete. Game play will benefit the casual as well as hard core gamer. You do not need to be a master in any skill to participate! Just bring your imagination!!
Why are we doing this?
Nearly all player run cities are void of life except for the occassional event. Once underway, we expect the threads of each characters background and motivations will begin to weave a vibrant tapestry of persistent fiction with the ultimate prize being the Metropolis of Apotheon itself. What is already the largest city will become invigorated with plots and sub-plots born by the imaginations of its Player Citizens.
When will it start?
The foundation of this Scenario, The Splintering of Apotheon: Merchant Houses at War has already been set. You still have time to make a difference whether you are a solo Merchant that believes they can build the most successful House, or a full guild with its eye on the prize. There isneed for many other sub-plots and stories as well,so even if controllingthe largest metropolisdoes not interest you or your group, we still need storytellers (aka GameMasters).We welcome and encourage all!
If you intend to build a Merchant House in Apotheon and have not yet contacted Theodis, please do so before Friday, April 30th 9pm Pacific time. I wish we could say there was an unlimited number of houses available, but there isn't. So contact me right away to discuss how we can work together to build an awesome experience!

Update:
As the scenario unfolds (now in week 3) a garrison of imperial troops, (The Imperial ELITE)have taken over a whole quadrant of the city in order to quell the merchant uprising that had been brewingover the last month or so. Rebels have had a difficult time in the Neutral city but commerce continues.
Just recently, a Colonel within the garrison made a brazen attempt at the mayorship. He is expected to attempt this again this week. The garrison is experiencing some political infighting and a major group leader had been put under house arrest.
The first merchant house (Outer Rim Resource Conglomerate),has begun to amass the necessary votes to overthrow the current Mayor but was unable to do it this week.
The Mayor is apparently being drugged against his will and is, effectively, alame duck. He has called for help from a secretive group of Jedi. He can only hope that those sympathetic to the rebellion help balance the power structure. More rumors of merchant houses making a run for the Mayorship have been heard but there have been no noticable pronouncements. There has even been talk of a loose band of smugglars and Bounty Hunters looking to take the mayor down and run the city as a lawless enterprise!
