So what we have here is a bit of a sticky situation. Our incumbent mayor has left game in search of greener pastures until space expansion rolls around and we are having trouble getting the votes together to elect a new one into office. If our previous mayor was to reactive their account is there any easy process in whichthey could go about conceding those votes or just take them out of the race? Any advice is appreciated.

Unfortunately there's no way for a mayor to resign. You just need to get enough citizens to vote for the person running against the mayor...even if it means moving in a few new citizens long enough to do that.

Here is the best way to do this:

1) Go to the city managment terminal and put every citizen on your friends list.

2) Contact the guild leaders of each guild in your city and ask them to send a "guild" email to all thier members asking them to vote for your canidate.

3)If after 48 hrs there is no dramatic change in the vote count, e-mail everybody in the city you put on your friends list asking them to vote for your canidate.

4) If that fails, then start sending tells to residents asking them if they voted yet. (At this time you may have one or two people on your bandwagon working with you).

5) Next if it appears that more than 50% of your citizen base are inactive your going to have to start recruiting people to the city (hope you know somebody in the milita). You can check to see if a citizen is active by bank tipping them 1 credit. You will get a conformation email when they log on.

Hope that works out for you.

Never thought of that.

I stole it from somebody.... they posted it on the politican forums. I used it when some of my more active residents moved to see when they came back. (And i could start mooching off of them)

Ummm - how about us mayors volunteering to set up a char on <your server> we move into your city for a week or 2 in a house you lend us. We vote for the new mayor, then redeed the house and hand it back when the new mayor gets in.

I'd happily do that .... kind of like a 'smart mob' for your city :-)

ok - so it's a bit devious ..... and could be abused as a griefing tactic to oust an active mayor ..... but is one way you could enlist a group of people who understand your issue and probably sympathise ....

any comments ?

I'm having the same problem, and we only have a small city (20 people). Our mayor left to go play CoH, and it seems that a lot of people are off vacationing or gone for the summer months. Hopefully, though, after this week we should break the 50%+1 mark and get me in as mayor, otherwise we might start looking to put up a new city.
