Thread: City looks: not so much of a city than some houses popping now and then.

What aggravates me is that atm it's impossible to see your whole city: houses despawn when you're a certain distance from them, so what you get is a few houses around you and farther away it looks like untamed wilderness. I'd advocate for houses to be stored longer in memory so when I pass a house it doesn't disappear 10 seconds later. As things go by now, I can't see both ends of the main street of my city at the same time. Even a metropolis will look like a village from inside if this isn't cleared up.

Take the exemple of Bestine, you can see the whole city from the hill nearby. With player cities taht's impossible, you would see only empty desert from the same POV.

Best way to deal with the tall guys is to give them incentives to lick the ground. And dont look down on me that way youre not THAT taller.

The problem becomes all the surfaces that must be culled when you have a lot of houses present. In NPC cities a lot of the buildings are empty, you can't even get inside them, thus they don't have a lot of hidden surfaces.

One thing you'll be happy to know about Player Cities is that the city buildings are all visible from a much greater distance. This includes the cantina and hospital.
