Thread: Re-Declaring Residence Problem?

As I recall, it takes seven days to redeclare your residence. In other words, if you have a house right now and you have it as your declared residence and then the Player City Update comes say on Wednesday and you go move your house to the new town you are going to live in, you won't be able to declare your residence in that town for a week. If it still works like this it's going to be a problem I think. Most of our guild has houses in a location that isn't going to be our town. If we all redeed today and move and the update comes this week like it's supposed to, we won't be able to redeclare residence until this time next Sunday. I sure hope it doesn't work like this. If anyone can put any input please do. Thanks.

It takes 7 days to declare your residence from the time you declare it, not from when you deed your house. If you declared 3 months ago, you'll be okay.

As long as you don't declare your residence somewhere else the day before the patch, you have nothing to fear.

Alright, say I have a declared residence right now (been declaredthere forover a month). The patch comes, I redeed my house and go place it within 150m of the city hall, redeclare my residence there. Will I immediately be considered a member of the town in that I will count towards the 5 people required so the city hall doesn't disappear the next day?

Just making sure that the answer is 'yes' as I inferred from your above post.

You inferred correctly. You will immediately become a declared resident in your new house, and thus, a citizen of the new city.
