Thread: Cloning center factional problem, is it intended?
I have looked around and I can't seem to find a reply to what I am looking for. My city got a cloning center yesterday, I was overt at the time, and some rebel overts used our brand new shuttleport to come kill people. I cloned there, but I stayed overt, and they just waited for me outside to kill me again, good thing I was cloned somewhere else and managed to get away after the second death.
Is it a bug? Or is it intentional that cloning in a city leaves your overt status? If someone knows, thanks for letting me know, because the way I see it it's not encouraging at all to clone there.
If it's a factionally aligned city, then you keep your TEF, I believe.

Well since I don't know how to set the city to being factionally aligned, I'm sure that our city is not factionally aligned. Also, I am sure that I was not Overt either time that I placed the Cloning Facility yet this is happening in the JUGANOTH Valley on Chilastra.
The other issue with cloning centers is that if someone is /citybanned but managed to sneak in and set their clone location to our center, then cannot clone there anymore when they die.
Since they cannot use the facility but it's their pre-designated site, and the closest site, the JUST STAND UP after cloning. They literally stand up in place.
Here's your fix. Drop a factional base with covert detector bycloning and shuttle services.
Currently NO rebels can shuttle in our city. They have to walk. Cloning is a little tougher, because if you do this you can TRAP the rebels there. We have opted for a faction base at the clone entrance with no covert detector so at least overts cant use it.
Being overt when you place it makes no difference. If you are aligned when you place a structure, it will be an aligned structure. Even if you drop or change factions later, it will still be an aligned structure. This goes for harvesters, factories, houses, cantinas, med centers, cloning centers, gardens.. Currently the only structures it makes a difference on is installations (Harvester and factory names show the faction logo and the name is pink) cantinas, med centers and theaters (where you get a small boost to buffs and healing for factionally aligned healers and patients) cloning facilities (Where factionally aligned can clone overt without having to visit a recruiter) and gardens (Where a bug lists them as imperial or rebel installations).
