Yes it is time for this i think our economy stinks our cities are boring our citizens are leaving or not participating in an active role in our cities. We need to do something and I have an idea that we need to try. I understand that politiciansare a low very low not even thought on the devs minds so lets make it bigger.

I call to arms all politicians, guild leaders, and yes even non politicians to tell their fellow guildies to place a post, nothing big just a post in the forum section they spend a lot of time in such as the jedi profession forum or the bloodfin server forum or one of the trade forums whatever they want but put a post on that forum asking for improvement to player cities and politician now. Obviously a jedi can not get on the jedi forum and say "I think that the politician profession should be changed or player cities blah blah blah" makes him sound like an idiot, no my suggestion is have a player be it a jedi for example go on to the jedi forum and say "I am a grinding jedi my city i live in has no lvl 80 mission terms or my city has no mass form of communication for fellow guildies we need help". No matter what it is have the player state something in the appropriate forum section that is appropriate to that forum section but still put some emphasis on the player city or politician.

This i believe will get it well known out there and invoke other players to respond to it. I personally as a mayor and a combat profession would like to see such things as post offices in the city where i can place guild only loot items or wp for certain things i want my guild to know about. Please try to get help for us politicians i am preparing a guild/city spam for my city as we speak to call them to arms and have them do this. Thank you for you time.

P.S. If there are any devs reading this please respond

Punctuation. Paragraphs. White letters. Small letters.

As soon as my seizure subsides, I might try to read that.

What changes are you wanting? Politician doesn't cost any skill points to get? just votes. Were you looking for maybe Bribes?

Hotels have Event promoters, which costs money, but something to spice up towns or events... Please, let me know.

I've been a mayor for 2 days now, but sure. I'm sure there are changes that would be VERY beneficial to politicians. But honestly I've been a merchant for long enough to develop a strong, deep-rooted cynicism. You can point out flaws and ask for changes until you're blue in the face.

The correspondant here seems to be doing an excellent job (the stickies are great, thanks). And I'm sure the correspondant reads all the messages here and organizes them well before presenting them to the devs. But at that point, they fall on deaf ears. You can post all you want here, but it's about as effective as screaming at your TV.

Ok you dont read the forums, first off politicians have been posting requests for different changes yet you never see a dev in here responding or a hotfix that adds something for politician or anything. I just am talking in general our cities are not doing well players are leaving the cities cause they see no point in them or the cities are dieing cause cities cant make money. I also read in here that politicians want more content for them also.

I agree with you that is why i am not making this post for the devs i want the people that are listened to in this game to also try to help there has to be somethings that non politicians in the guild want to see in the city that deals with their profession. I also agree the correspondants are doing well I just dont ever see any change at all (not the correspondants fault) just the favortism towards other professions and ignoring the others. Whether people want to admit it or not politician is an important profession. Player cities are a big part in SWG life now. I am not trying to be rude or insulting I really only want politicians and guild leaders to try to get their citizens to play a more active roll in changing things.

You mean you aren't taking them yet? Somebody wants a trainer placed, a fountain or garden near their home, a street lamp put near that dark alley... They need to grease the cogs of the political machine first!

/ooc If any of my players want something a bit "extra" beyond what the city plan calls for they pay for it. The cost is minimal. When they stop paying the item is removed from the town. Have fun with your citizens! Send out a weekly paper. It can include how the War is going, any recent events in your city or stories about other citizens.

Just have fun with it and read some of the other post on this board. There are some great ideas out there. Take what you like and ask your constituants what they like. After all, you are the voice of the people.

First off i would never ask that of my guild i dont want or need the money. In response to you good idea about the newsletter type thing i do that already produce such a newsletter allowing my citizens to ask me questions or put in their two sense in the newsletter or post what resources they have found or just to let them know how the GCW is going and the finacial base of the city or whatever. That is a good idea though Peace_Keeper. Now if you want to cross sever send me some bribe money that would be great lol. I also in response to your part about the other messages on this forum have good ideas and i agree there are a lot of good ideas but it seems like none are ever heard or responded to or made active in a hot fix or whatever. That is all my post if for just to try to get a better response to our posts that are good ideas. Khristen as a matter of fact does very well with her stickies she is concise and too the point and i believe she helps out a lot.

LOL its so funny that so many are so concerned about causing financial pain to their PA by charging them taxes to pay for city stuff.

Especially when the amount of money we are tlaking about you can find in your couch cushions.

I have yet to meet a POOR SWG player. Unless that player has been in the game only 1 day, they have made enough credits to be able to pay for their house, its taxes, and basic supplies in their first week of gameplay for the whole year.

The thought is nice, and its good to be generous, but its misplaced. There is no reason for anyone who plays SWG to be poor enough where they cannot afford a .01% raise in city taxes to pay for a fountain.

You have 100 people in a city, you have the tax base to pay for all the necessities and really lay on the glitz too, and still no one would really miss the money it takes to pay for it. People throw more money away on swoop maintenance in a week than they pay in city taxes for a year.
