Thread: What happens if I can't afford the taxes?
I have a character on a server that is a resident of a player city with very little money.
I received an emailthat the taxes were being raised to 2000 credits per week plus 5% of structure maintenance... ok, I knowit's still not a lot of money, but I want to know howtaxes work.
- is the 2000 creditstaken automatically from my bank account each week?
- is the 5% added to the maintenance cost of the harvestors and house, or does that also come from the bank seperate from the harvestors?
- If somone else with admin rights to my harvestors pays the maintenance for me, does that cover the taxes too?
- what will happen if I have less than 2000 credits in my inventory when it's time to collect taxes?
If you cant pay the citiceznship tax --- nothing happens, the Mayor just gets an e-mail saying you didnt pay. The money comes straight out of your bank account if you have enough there.
If you cannot pay increased mantenance your house will eventually go poof. However anyone you have as an admin can contribute to the pay mantenance pool.
The sales tax is paid by people that buy your stuff.
ok, let's see if I have this right then...
so if I have a second account, and that character:
- is NOT a resisdent of the city
- placessome harvestors outside the city initially
- sets myfirst character as admin on those harvestors
- never logs in again
- buttheharvestorseventually get taken into the city limits by the city's growth
then the harvestors WONTgo poof, because the first character is paying the maintenance, and the mayor NEVER gets an email because the second character is not a resisdent....
sound right?
The 5% maintenance tax is applled to ALL structures in teh city radius, whether the owner is a resident or not.
