Well I've given it hell and have tried going through it different ways, but the exactplace where we built just wasn't made for a city apparently. So we are most likely (still need to talk to everybody) going to have to move the hall down a ways where there is more build room available right off the bat (this would have been incorporated where we are now at rank 3/4 but we can't get there

) Not a big deal, there aren't that many people to move since we really were just trying to use our own lots to get the space req then just /transfer to new citizens when we get enough built so this aspect is not the problem.

What is the problem, or more accurately the query, is whether or not this will actually work out right off the bat. Will I be able to empty out the treasurey and destroy city hall, then almost immediately place another or is there a days worth of lag time for the server to recognize deletion? Also, a friend of mine will want to place his cantina (it'll be integrated eventually so why not put it in the place it'll end up now) and I feel the perfect spot for it would be where city hall is now. Would I be able to delete city hall then have him hurry up and drop the cantina in it's place or will the "city" be gone and that become the equivalent of no build zone for him?

These aren't too terriblyimmediate problemssince I still need to talk to my citizens and explain the situation, plus I have finals coming up soon so I really can't play at all till a week or 2 into May, but it would be nice if anyone happens to know the answers to these. Thanks a bunch in advance, and if noone really knows I'll just have to play it safe I suppose.

Ewww... good questions...

I know someone who might have some of these answers but I'll have to track him down... I'll get back here and let you know if he knows anything, after I contact him.

I know for a fact you loose your city. You have to start from level 1 and work your way up the chain all over again.

Don't forget to clean the treasury out and redeed all other civic structures before you kill the city hall.

Yes I know this, in fact I even mentioned that in my post. The question is when it takes effect. Do I have to wait for the next server reboot to drop the new hall? Will my friend have free time to place his cantina in the same spot as our city hall? Does anyone know?

You can only pull 50K out of the town hall per day. I ran into the problem when I wanted to restart my city, with citiziens support. I was able to take city hall down and put up a new one with the only delay being that I had to go from point a to point b.

My bad i miss understood you. I thought you were aking if a city stll exsits like when you redeed a guild hall. Anywho when they destroyed Isle of Misfits, Dantooine on the eclipse server, the effect was instant. Your friend will have to wait until the new city hall is placed before he/she can place the cantina.
