When you vote for someone the vote should stay for that person and not default back to the current mayor every week.
this problem has destroied a few cities aready.

post your ideas here

I agree with you, Moxin01, votes should remain with whoever they voted for during that week. It would make it easier to replace mayors who have become defunct.

New citizens should still have their votes default to the current Mayor, though. At least until they get to the terminal and place a vote of their own choice.

In theory, your suggestion makes sense.

However, since the system currently requires the candidate to run against the Mayor every election, it can't really default to a player who may or may not choose to run.

Example: A citizen named Zeus decides to run for Mayor against the incumbant. He loses the election badly. He runs a second time, and does some hand kissing and baby shaking. He loses again, but gets a few votes. He runs a third time, but this time, a lot of his supporters have not been around and fewer people vote, he loses badly. He decides to give up, and move to another town where he can run for Mayor there and maybe have a better chance of winning.

What's my point? I'm not real sure. Just that since candidates MUST register to run each week (and might not want to be automatically registeredon the balloteach subsequentweek), then the system can't really default votes to someone who may or may not run.

What really should happen is make the elections less often, like every 2 weeks, so people have a better chance of gathering enough votes in time.

Or not.

Well, if you've seached this forum a little - you'd know this is OLD NEWs and one discussed and one that makes us all blue (or red) in the face.......

No, it'snot a good idea. You'd also drive the citizens batty! That would now force them to go vote each and every single week for the rest of their lived.

What happens if you go on vacation for a few weeks (and are an acitive cit) but coudn't cast your vote ?

And, it would also promoet alot more mayor "ousting", seeing now some can go see the City Voting terminal just before the next update and a bunch cast there votes just before and not giving the incumbent mayor any way to combat this.

Although I agree that mayor resignation is difficult, the only true voice of a city are from it's true (active) citizens and not from the majority of the numbers on the Citizenship List.

The Player City system/issues and Politicianis a little complex but there doesn't seem to be "good" solution better than the current.
