Im looking in the ctrl+v feature, double clicking on 'cities' and it shows the player cities with "asterisks" next to them. Is this the number of player cities on this planet, or is that the number of player cities that registered themselves (like you do with a vendor). Im not a politician but my PA is looking to relocate our city to another planet and we're unsure how to determine how many player cities are on a planet. I guess the question is, if you become a city, do you automatically show up on the planet map, or do you have the option not to? and where can you find out how many player cities are on a planet?
regards,
A'ier
P.S. the holocron was zero help

You do not automatically show up on the planet map, you have to acquire the skill to do this and then take that option in the City Management terminal.
There's no way to find out how many player cities are on a planet. However, I've found that if you click on "Mission Terminals" on the Planetary Map it will show you cities that aren't registered but do have mission terminals. This is the best way that I havefound to find out how many cities are on the planet.

Yes, unfortunately the only way to truly find out if a planet has reached it's player city cap is to try to place a city hall. The CSRs claim that they have no way of knowing if there is a cap or not, so they're no help either.
