Thread: Am i a Fake Mayor?

kk, i havent been a mayor for long..well actually its my alt thats the mayor. But i dont really do very much.
I log the mayor on once a day..the rest of the time im on my main and all town residents know its name..BUT i dont have anything to do. Every so often i send out a town letter..I made a minimum of 3 militia from each major guild..they develop their own "zones"..the solo residents have a list of all town militia for any immediate problems.
so all in all the only thing i ever have to do..is place city furniture.
What do all you other mayors do?..maybe im just feeling blue, but mayor position seems a bit of a waste. admittedly i only took mayor when the previous mayor announced his game leaving so it wasnt a career decision.

Hi there mayor. It is my oppinion that just as long as you do what works for your city, then you are not a "fake" mayor. Trust me on this....If your city or millitia felt other wise about the way you run your city, then they would have sent you packing by now.

well i kinda do the same thing with my chars.. But anytime they need something i log him on right there also i have a thing for changing the city once a month or so i like to keep it looking nice and different... Im also always trying to come up with idea's to better the city

you are not fake.. that is what most mayor do. Especially if you have a compentent staff (which you seem to do)
That is why a lot of mayors felt that spending that much SP and getting not much in return (at least personal) wise... also a lot of mayor have stuff establish (decoration and such) and forget skills and keep a minimal for "shuffling things around"

thanks for the replies...
I came into the mayor profession rapidly and with no preconcieved ideas as to what it entailed.
I recently came to the conclusion (by some very lateral thinking) that either i was not doing all i should be, ie, making being a mayor an encompassing , time consuming a riveting profession..or i wasnt playing it right and missing out on some truly riveting features.
I cant think of any other profession that requires expenditure of points for so very little back..apart from maybe tailor (shudder)
