Thread: So what do people think about the scavenger hunt for city decorations?

Since Rauha is a neutral city, having either of the ships in our city wouldn't be appropriate.
And...well...the pod is lame.
So we decided not to try.
We are neutral as well, but we quickly decided there was no way we were going with that pod ![]()
Currently the vote is leaning towards the XWing, even though I think more people are Imp in the city... I'd have to agree with the consensus too, I think the XWing looks better.
I agree with this point, but most ofthe servers would likely crash if they did it like this and being a weekend, none of the devs would even be around... that could be bad

I think it is a cool idea but somewhat flawed:
3. Having the final disk available on a work day makes no sense. Start the scavenger hunt on Wednesday, and have the fourth one pop on Saturday. Hurts people who have to work, and west coast folks.
When it got released we had most of the city (that was online at the time) going out and looking for it - and I believe we only found one. All up I think residents spent a fair slice of their gaming time riding around searching and in the end, most people lost interest as they had better things to do.
The problem that it also co-incided with a player run event in our city also meant we didn't look too kindly on it (or look to hard for it once the race time drew near).
I know for myself I probably spent 3 or so hours riding up and down the beach on Talus with no luck, and even walked the whole length at one stage just in case I missed it riding. But realistically, we assumed that if we hadn't found all 3 within the first couple of days, we wouldn't bother with the others (unless someone was bored and had nothing better to do).
I'm still waiting to find out if we won or not.
We were the first to pull the flowers out of the 4th Drum placed today...
But another guild claimed that they found the disk an hour earlier...
We need quests for politicians to win these special decorations. But not on such a big and limited scale. I'm gonna write a little post about it though....
We have a metropolis but Apathy seems to be the order of the day there. We had about 10 people out of 100 actually help with the search. One guild (the smallest in the city with only 9 or 10 members) found the first three disks. We were the third to find it on Corbantis and submitted the info (Hey, there's a chance one of the other two guilds might have messed up on a waypoint or forgotten some info).
Over all it wasn't too bad, a little boring as they put it on four of the drabbest planets in the game (okay, talus and yavin aren't THAT bad, but it would have been so much better on Dathomir and Endor)
Putting disks on planets that were home to player cities was in my opinion a bad idea, but hey, they had to start somewhere. At least the next time they run something like this they have the feedback from this event to use to make it better.
I would settle for a consolation prize of a large faction banner to hang in our city hall. Maybe next time.
