Thread: any chance of these getting fixed?

I am a councilman for my player city. We are a rebel city, and about two months ago we asked a member of our city to leave because it was discovered that she had gone imp. She agreed and picked up her house and moved. No biggy, and no hard feelings. Now, we are not a major RP town, but we decided to give it a go and create some content for our citizens. After devloping the story throughout january and february, we started sending emails to our citizens informing them of the storyline (an occupation as part of the crackdown). Little did we know that our former citizen was STILL getting emails as a citizen. Not only that, but it seems that the time and place of ourPvE/RP eventsomehow became widespread news and word eventually made it out to the tool community and lo and behold an entire 2 months of planning is thrown out the window in favor of a griefing PA that decided to pay us a visit. Out of this we discovered the following city weaknesses that played an instrumental role in ruining the gaming experience of over 60 people:

Former citizens are still citizens unless they revoke citizenship...regardless of whether they own a structure in town. Any emails sent to all citizens by the mayor are still recieved by these individuals, making them privy to information they may not need to be privy to.

People who have cloned in your city and are subsequently /citybanned can magically rise from the dead right where you kill them...and start griefing all over again.

/addignore asshat works on a one on one basis, but if you're hosting a city event...you've got to /tell 60 people to /addignore asshat...and he can still grief in certain situations.

So how about this:

/citysilence

a command granted to the mayor and militia that automatically adds said asshat to the ignore list of everyone within city boundaries...thereby keeping his/her big mouth silenced until they leave.

/cancelclone

a command granted to the mayor and militia that revokes an individuals clone location in the city and moves it to the nearest NPC city. Or perhaps that function can be added to /cityban.

/cityfine

ok, so you don't want to force folks to PvP...maybe putting a dent in their pocketbook will make them leave. /cityfine 1000000...and you get a 1 minute warning. If you don't leave you get charged the amount of the fine. Don't have enough? We'll take what you have...you're not using it on our shuttle anyway. Walk home (i know, this is silly, forget i mentioned it)

and finally....harassment reporting that WORKS. I shouldn't have report someone 10 times and not hear a word from a csr. My citizens shouldn't be subjected to idiots calling everyone in range a 'tard' in blatant defiance of a request to leave. If children are in my city harassing my citizens, I should be able to call on the grown ups and have them sent to their rooms. I know CSR's are busy folks, and I'm sure it's hard to follow up on every report...but I honestly know of no instance where /reporting someone did any good. There are folks on my server that /emote rape, harass, exploit (real exploits, not the "i got beat" accusations), and generally abuse every aspect of the game....and the same people are there day after day talking smack that devs won't touch them.

This game rocks, and despite its weaknesses I think it has tremendous potential. What keeps it down is the asshat population. Unless they are dealt with, and unless we are given tools to adequately deal with them, THEY will bring it down.

Ok...i'm off my soapbox...

While you're at it, don't forget

/citysunban - Immediately commands the Sun to stop rising in the morning.

/holocancel - Removes all Holocrons from the player's inventory and resets his profession list.

/addfear - Causes an immediate /intimidate for all logged in citizens, to keep them in line.

Hope these are in the next Publish!

well if you're going to add those, then you have to add:

/makeDurni

Command to turn asshats into the insignificant rodents they are...and hits them with a blind state

/callMommy

Command to instantly connect to an internet phone service and call the asshats mommy...so she can tell him to get off the puter

/cityWarcry

Command to automatically delay the asshat for 60 seconds while we figure out what other useless city command we can launch at him

omfg..too good!

Ass funny as these are, I can truly see a good deal of potential.

Imagine:

Griefer: You sucks d00d!

Mayor: Shut up or Leave

Griefer: Make me

Mayor Watches Blind Durni Hop away bumbing into buildings, mubmling in some un known language to the nearest re-animation facitlity, which of course is on a nother planet, but because of the /cityfine, he has no money and has to at a starport that he hopped to cause we all know Durnis cant drive. Then, he has to figure out a way to keep people (n00bs mostly) from killing him for the xp, or God forbid, resources (imagine the luck when you find a Krayt Pistol, large Naboo house, and a swoopon the Durni!).

After all this, he still must find a way to communicate with peeps to beg for airfare there in a language no one knows.

Amen I say. What better way to keep griefers in check?

2,000 years ago, when God made an ass speak it was a miracle.
Today, it would be a miracle if you could get one to shut up.

Nice points,

But cityfine would be so misused and be a greifing tool.

part of this post was written tongue in cheek (hence the 'forget i mentioned it' line). Though the durni idea, I think would work!
