I feel that a city hall SHOULD not be able to be destroy on a whim of the mayor.... true we voted him/her in.. but you can never truly know a person unless you met them face to face (like in real life.. or at least have an idea what they are about) even that can be "iffy"

I feel that if a mayor wish to destroy the city hall for any reason... he/she needs to get at least 3/4 of the population to vote on it.. I feel that is fair.. at least the citizens will be aware what is going on...

I am sure the CSRs got tickets regard "grief" destruction of city hall... the answer of "well too bad" is not good enough really....

You can never truly know a person's intent in any MMO... not unless you know them in real life... since our city contains people from 4 different countries... and several states in the U.S. alone.. this is not possible.. you can always have a feel.. but a truly sadisitic person or a good "actor" can masqurade and pretend until it is time to strike...

Please Devs... please do consider this.. or at least making the city destruction less accessable.

100 percent agree.

This is one of the serious flaws in the class as it now stands...the ability for the current mayor to blackmail the citizens into keeping him in office.

yes.. others have said this in the past....

they also got 5 stars from me..

has to happen. we need referendum options for things like killing the city, withdrawing more than 50k from the kittyand other user defined questions (eg, the mayor has had talks with guild xyz that lives just over the hill. they would like to join our city. do you want to shareour currently one guild city with another inderpendant guild for the growth benifits? vote yes/no). etc's

Actually those exist now, they're just buggy. The ballot box terminals only work for a day so you can in a sense do a quick query to the populace and find out how they feel however if it lasted a week it would be much more realistic. You use this then to make the final mayoral decision. (grant zoning rights) This is all well and good seeing how you can't really grief with an option like that. If everyone doesn't want them in the city yet you do it anyway it doesn't trulyhurt the town that much, destroying City Hall against a majority of the citizen's will...that's griefing.

current craftable ballot boxes are useless. a day is not enough time for every one to vote...

Yes, like I said the ballot boxes are still buggy and they need to be increased a good amount before they can truly be considered useful however the system does exist for referendums. A few things need to give the power completely over to the people however (destroy city hall, take large sums from treasury) but aside from those you could simply use a terminal and city mail everyone to tell them about it.

Got my vote...this would be a great way to stop the rogue mayor problems which seem to be hampering player cities.

I don't really think it should take that much though. Some people don't get online that often so if most of the town truly did want to destroy the city they may have to wait a few weeks to get every last vote in which more or less wastes their spot on the planetary cap. I'd say 2/3rds or maybe even justa simple majority. It should have all votes default to no if they default at all as well. You shouldnever have to voteto stopsomething, you vote for something to happen.
