Thread: PLS RAISE LEVEL 3 NABOO CAP!!! *seriously beggin here*

I could have cried yesterday when our city FINALLY got enough residents to ding to level 3. We were one of the original 10 on naboo *yay us* but then, my joy was lost... when I get the following email. "Congratulations your city has qualified for level 3.....*cringes* Unfortunately the player city cap has been met for...yadda yadda...and some more yaddas in there." *weeps about not being on the map* I mean we are an artisan shopping oommunity, we dont care about being huge, we just want to be on the map!!!! Tell me how and why this would lag the server? I just dunt see it. PLS RAISE CAP FOR THOSE OF US THAT HAVE WORKED SOOOOO HARD TO BUILD OUR CITY UP!

Player city lag is caused by the radius of the city, the larger it is, the more lag because the city is constantly checking to see if items are within the city limits. You know that message you get when you enter the city limits? That was the server figuring out you are within the radius. It has to do that with EVERY object on the server, figure out if it is within a city or not. The more larger cities there are on a server, the more lag the server will have. I feel bad for those who are stuck behind the cap, and I don't think it is the way to deal with server lag. All kids of issues occur with player cities that didn't occur before, more zoning, more warping. We still have people poof on us walking into the city, they are there, but we can't see them.


Sony needs to find a better way of handling this issue than to simply limit the player's ability to advance. I can understand your frustration with it, but I also understand technically why Sony is capping the cities. That said, it doesn't mean I have to like it. I wish Sony would come up with another solution instead of the cap.

The thing is at the moment we DONT CARE about how large our borders are. We're not filled up yet as it is. We just want the perks of the level 3 city ie. on the map. Now I KNOW Nascent being on the map would not bog down the server *sigh* Too much to ask for I guess :/

If you simply wanted the ability for level 2 cities to be able to register on the map, you should have asked for that in a nice calm way, instead of posting a topic and request all in CAPS as you did. It would have been much better received. The abilities of each level of city and politician were created pre-cap and thus we set up to allow new opportunities for cities that reached certain goals.

My reply was to this question. You had not asked for just being able to register. You asked for the cap to be lifted.

And no it's NOT too much to ask for. But presentation is an important thing. A developer will see this as a rant instead of a constructive request.

LOL. Put yourself in my shoes. You get lots of residents. You put up with horrid double updates in one week, sometimes three updates. You dont complain. Then finally, your city dings to level 3. You get an email stating that you cannot expand or get level 3 abilities. Little frustrating yes? I'm sry if you dont approve of my tactics, but I have every right to voice my opinion. And yes, I would like them to raise the cap. There are many other cities that are in the same predicment that I am. We deserve the perks of level 3 as we've worked so hard on our city. Granted we dont NEED a cloning facility and such, we do WANT the perks. We do NEED to have our city registered. And we do NEED to have the ability to make our city a manufacturing center. None of which we can do as a level 2 city. I'm not pulling down on the devs structure of abilities per level. But I do wish that those of us that worked hard on our city to gain the benefits of those equal to ours. So you may criticize my methods. I am content with them.

Listing a city on the player map, regardless of the size, shouldn't be an issue. After all, even the smallest towns in your home states are listed on maps. It's ridiculous to wait for level 3 to be able to register and I agree that it would not lag the server, as long as they kept the cap of expanding cities.
