Thread: NEED SOMEKIND OF CITY KICK FEATURE !!!
Now, I dont normally come here to rant ... but I have to rant! LOL
Lastnight, we had a moron come tot he city. And he sat ont he city hall spamming "Greedo poops on the city hall" ... he did this over andover and over. We tried EVERYTHING to get this guy to go. He just kept spamming and spamming. We asked nicely, not so nicely, city banned him, tried to get him to duel (which he agreed to for 500k .. right!!), we sent in tickets (no response from CSR), did /report Greedo (still no responce from CSR), tried leading Squill to him which didnt work LOL ... finally, I put on my Mayorial hat and unsed a little reverse phychology on him. He liked me, started following me around talking to me (guild chat was booming with laughter on how Ahn tamed a Greedo) ... and finally, one of our other malitia members talked him into helping him on a hunt on Yavin, that he would pay his ticket. So, off the two went. Olite knew the guy didnt have any money, and he wasnt a very skilled player. Basically, he ditched him on Yavin and the city was peaceful.
My point is ... isnt there SOMETHING that the DEVS can figure out to help us more logically solve these kinds of issues. I understand why they took away citywarn ... but surly there is SOMETHING that would aid our militia better. Some little something!!! ![]()
Has anyone else encountered a similiar situation? If so, how did you handle it? Thanks for your time all!
They should put back in the warn but give the person2-3 minutes to leave the city or they can be attacked
Vaca Dormir, Naritas,
Something ... anything! I like that guys idea of a /cityignore LOL That would have been sooo handy lastnight! LOL I just hoe they are working on this for us. Would be really nice.
Bring back /citywarn! I had a similar situation today.. we couldn't get rid of this group (one of whom we had previously kicked from our guild for being an ass) .. apparently they were there as part of another group that was raiding the fort.. /citybanned all of them, privatized our PA Hall (since they were poking around inside) and /reported 2 out of the three since they were being abusive. Only thing we haven't done yet (but plan to) is report their actions to their guild's leadership (since we understand the leadership would not condone this kind of juvenile behavior)..
We *so* needed to be able to just take them out and shoot them...
Need /cityignore.. I just would love to see how pissed some was as soon as they realized NOBODY in the city could hear them or thier stupid /emotes...
I do wish for /cityinivs which would be /cityignore but the person, pets and vechicles would be invis.
I wonder, we didn't ask for this but the more I think perhaps /cityinivs would be nicer and you could add one little feature: They can't hear spatial either.. so they can't be spys while they are inivis, guess they could still see if things were guarded etc. But making them invis would be fun. ![]()
Only problem is I bet /cityinivis would be too hard to implement and too open to interesting evil things (like doing /cityinvis to spy on people etc..)
What is really needed is the POI anti-power zone and /citywarn or /cityeject.. Then cities on top of POI's would not be able to control a POI but all the rest of us could still get people out of our hair. ![]()
I'd be a bit leery of a "POI Power Zone" ... we'd be considered "on top" of a POI more likely than not.
We're not trying to control or keep others out of the POI (it's our bread and butter); but coming into town to abuse people is another story. Enjoy the POI, use our facilities, that's what it's there for.. but leave our citizenry alone if you're having a bad day (or other such problems).
...it's a long walk back from the nearest NPC city...
Hi,
I had a similar problem just last night with a couple of Jackasses trying to mess up a weekly event that runs in my city and is very popular.
Tried talking necely to them, tried warning them, eventualy had to /cityban them.
But then what? You cant actualy make them leave, and you cant stop them being jackasses in your town.
We had to move the event indoors half way through so that we could ban then from the building. How insane is it that 30 or so people have to be inconvenienced by 1 or 2 idiots?
Bring back /citywarn and just penalize the cities that use it to grief POI's.
Oh oh ... here is a totally ridiculous idea!
Lets create /cityjail yeah yeah! Devs, let out architects build a "jail". Then, when this happens, it alows members of our militia to place them in SOLITARY CONFINEMENT ... in a small little jail for a period of ten minutes (Earth minutes that is) and in that period they can not speak in spatial or use emotes! LOL Maybe ten minutes alone would give them time to cool off. At least then, when they kept griefing, we could keep sending them there. After long enough they would get bored and stop. ROFL MAN ... can you see the potential abuse issues with THAT idea? LOL Just a funn thought.
I really do wish the DEVS would give us something for this. Who knows, maybe it is in the works!

I am DEFINATELY keeping that tactic in my file. Just goes to show that a little bit of brains can go a long way when dealing with the immature.

We are a factionnal city and every week a group of opposing faction come when we sleep, destroy the HQ turrels using bugs (we have SS of that), and if we /cityban them and they had the chance to clone in our clone center before the ban, they justrez without any woundat the place they were slain.
They had also very intolerant words, insults against the citizens. Many many many /report did nothing. Now they laught when we /cityban them for the ## time. I know some of my militia members abused of /citywarn at the beginning and i regret it, but we really need something against those griefers in any form.
