I'm sure most of the cities have zoning turned on. Also many of the politicians have lives outside of the mayor's office which may lead us to 1 or 0 lots. I really wish there was a /revokezoning or a way to place a house yourself and transfer it so that you don't have to worry about someone dropping structures all over your town and you not being able to do an darn thing about it.

There is a way to do the bolded part. Place the house, then go inside it, and target the terminal.

Type: /transferstructure <name>

The person must be within X meters, but should be fairly close. The building will transfer ownership to that person, all without you having to grant anyone rights. You will initially, however, have to have lots open to put the building down in the first place.

This is how we do a majority of our building placements for our city. It saves time and effort trying to train someone how to place the house where you want it, and it also stops up potential security risks for new citizens of whom you know little about.

that takes care of that issue... the other issue of rem=voking zoning rights... if you grant them rights again while they still have them you revoke them.

so /grantz to give them rights, watch them place their house, make sure it's ok by your city standards and then /grantz again to remove the rights

But I do prefer the first choice of placing it myself and transfering it. People just don't understand your vision sometimes

I'll try the /grantz again. That would be awsome if it works.

Dropping a house and transfering it works great IF you have the lots. More often than not I don't. So what I was suggesting is a way to drop a house so that the ownership and lots go to another person... ie, Temp. Something like the system would allow the mayor to have negative lots for 5 mins or some very low time value. If the mayor didn't transfer the house it would be auto-deleted.

When you're all about the precision layouts, placing and then transferring the house is the only way to go. If they don't trust you enough to place a house, how did you get into office in the first place?

I give houses to any new citizen free of charge, so I just drop it for them and transfer it. On RARE occasions (like when someone wants to put down a large and I only have 3 slots open) I show them exactly where to place it, then /grant again right after it's down.
