Our town has an absentee mayor... she hasn't been on in over a month. I am the only militia member, so I'm the only one who can grant zoning rights. I can't do much else as far as I can tell. We realized that we had a problem, and one of our citizens agreed to run for office so that civic functions could be resumed. All of the active players voted for her... there are a lot of ghost players that our mayor got to become citizens and we have never seen them. So, there were enough of us who voted to give the challenger a slim (2 vote) lead. So all we had to do was wait for the weekly election.
Nope, the incumbent was somehow victorious, despite being outvoted. There was clearly some kind of bug. What was worse... our town's radius shrunk too, although we have the same number of registered citizens. This is like a banana republic... we have a missing mayor who can't be voted out of office, we can't make changes to the city.
Our would-be (should-be) mayor contacted a CSR about this problem, and his repsonse was hilarious...
"I'm sorry but our logs indicate that your opponent won by getting more votes than you." Thanks for explaining the fundamentals of democracy, but we were telling you that the tally was bogus.
So, in my mind the voting process is bugged. Either non-citizens within the radius are being counted, or ex-citizens are still counted in the vote, but don't show on the roster, or count in determining the radius... remember that we shrank.
I think we'd be happy to just ditch the damned city and townhall and get our money our the the treasury and cut our losses, but we can't even do that now.
We're gonna try one more time this week, and take screenshots of the vote tally througout the week.
Has anyone else had these kinds of problems?
