My town has a mayorwho wants to resign. We have a willing replacement. The problem is that our city has lots of citizens who seldom log on and don't remember to vote. The incumbant winsthe election each week by a large margin. It is looking like he will never lose an election.
Is the current mayor doomed to be mayor forever? Or is there a way to resign without actually losing the election?

Basically doomed forever, unless there is a way for him to resign... Our city had an inactive mayor and our citizens were never on to vote, and the CSR basically gave me a "too bad so sad, this is how we wanted to do it blah blah".
Just cross your fingers and hope that enough people log on, thats what we ended up doing.

Try having him/her setup a house out side of the city limits and declare that there residence.
Since there residence is the city hall once elected, and if they are not a citizen they can not be mayor, as long as someone is running against, this should remove them from the list.
Not sure, but I did this once while I was running a while back and once I did this, I was removed from the list and everyone had to go and vote for me again.
hope this helps.

I have the same problem, we have 66 Citizens on Haven Island and so far i've only got 10 votes
I'm hoping things will pick up at the weekend when more people log on. So far i've sent emails to all the citizens, posted messages on the board and even stood outside the town hall using a spamming macro (Which I hate :smileymad
I've managed to contact the old Mayor IRL who has simpley got bored with the game. I suggested to him that he logs on and drops all his politician skills. Does anyone know if A) he can drop the skill and B) if so will it remove him from the running.
Heres hoping *crosses fingers*
