Thread: Planetary Caps

I was wondering if we will ever see the planetary player city caps adjusted? I have 100 ACTIVE players who settled our new city on Naboo just three weeks ago and we can't grow to level 3, while there are some ghost towns with not even half as many active players built on server lot swaps that are holding on to precious level 4 spots.

This really needs to be looked at. Why should a huge group of active players be denied by smaller groups that built up through a cheap tactic.

I agree. They need to reactivate the timer.

This can of worms has been tossed around a lot. You aren't going to come to a consensus on this board, and lots of people are very passionate about it. I think what is happening to you is a shame. Here is my opinion.

1. Planetary caps are good. We need them so that there aren't towns everywhere. Player city shuttles should be limited, would be terrible if there were 50 shuttle per planet.

2. City zoning rights should be taken away. I know people want control of there town, but there should be a different way to accomplish it. Cities should be public, not privately controlled. If you have 100 people you should have been able to waltz into a town, set up shop and take it over. This would have made cities a dynamic part of the game. Cities are currently stagnant with little to no turnover.

I just wish there was a chart that showed the current cities and there status on each planet per server. OR, that not being available the city levels AVAILABLE on each planet per server. There has to be SOME way to track this so politicians and groups can see what the chances are for development. you never know who will advance before your group but at least you have an idea if there is any where to advance to.

Terrible idea. You'll have harvesters in the middle of your streets, cuz not all 75% resource spots are outside of a city. You'll have houses surrounding your shuttleport so that no one can get to it, cuz people don't wanna run 100m to get to their shuttle. You'll have factories thrown willy nilly around your city, cuz every player wants to have their factory "nearby". Every player city would look like crap, cuz it'll just be a mishmash of these "free placers" that you want.

There's a reason you can't place stuff in NPC cities. Same reason you can't place stuff in PC cities.

It is unlikely that they will be raised, due to server lag.

I don't see where player cities contribute to server lag. Players already play. Players already place houses. About the only thing that changes is the invisible no-build-without-zoning-rights line

I say let's all go back to the 10/25 city caps... the smallest cities get the boot... not by rank, by citizen count. we can do this one month or so after reinstating inactive rule... oh yeah and anyone with a declared residence on more than one server gets the boot from the citizen list. or maybe even only count the server they play the most on for their citizen lot.

or better yet.. drop them all to outposts, and make outpost unlimited... that way we can have as many 300m havens as possible.

no no... big 3 get 10 cities and no more. all the rest get 10 cities and unlimited outposts.

all bad ideas huh? well frankly I'm getting real tired of all the complaining about not enough cities.... if they wanted coruscant in the game they would have added it to the galactic map

well most complain not about to few cities but about the limitiation of lvl 3 and 4 cities.

They told us that the city caps for lvl3 or higher will be temporarilyso many second generation cities have been created and grew and prospered. Now we ve a lot of 2nd gen. cities with up to 60-80 active citizens but they are not allowed to reach there rightfull city status cause some first gen ghost towns

i dont care about a shuttleport in the city, in my opinion they all should be removed, but we need the city radius we should have with our citizen count
