Thread: House Placement Irritation

OK our city is currently in the process of re-doing our city layout, and I have come across one of the biggest annoyances ever. Why can Militia grant others zoning rights, but cannot grant themselves rights. I am the city planner for Rivers Cross, Dantooine(on Ahazi), and just as a personal preferance I like to place people's houses and then transfer people their houses back. This lets me place it in the exact spot on want it on one try. But it irks me to death that I need someone else on Militia to grant me rights every day so that I can do this for people, to save them time and money. The mayor should be able to give people permanent zoning rights so that they can place houses whenever they want. Either that or Militia memebers should be able to grant themselves rights to place houses. Just wanted to see what you guys thought about this. And hopefully this is the rigth forum lol

.Saw the other post about self granting, but wanted to start a new topic about it, hopefully get something done so that possibly "positions" can be added to cities so that others can have permantent rigths or something of this sort.

I'm in the same position, I founded the city with someone (the current mayor) and planned everything...
yet, i never needed to grant zoning myself as i always had to grant the others (as PA leader i can't place houses due to PA hall taking 9 lot 
) ... i still understand your point very well
) ... i still understand your point very wellyet, i wouldn't like to see militia with so much power... when you want to plan your city carefully, you want to be here at each houses placement... and i wouldn't like to see my militia paople able to place house themself and if i could i would have removed their ability to grant zoning lol
so i think like you said as well that grantzoningright should be something the mayor only allocate to a few peoples, who would be able to grant themself too
(but you can dream on that 
)

Ya by no means should it be an automatic ability granted to all Militia. It should be a selected function that the mayor can give out to certian individuals.
Really the worst part of it for me is that this city is my brain child, I have planned it and worked on it since the day it was started and when someone just places a house it irks me, because it may be off by 1m, but its still off and they WILL NOT re-deed it even if I pay the 3k re-deed fee. By letting place houses without zoning it will take care of this.
But as you said I should keep dreaming cause this wont ever come into fruition lol.
