My city is a level 2 city. At the next city update, i will be able to place Small and Medium Gardens in my city. My city can support 20 decorations currently. Are gardens considered decorations, just like streetlights and fountains? or are they treated the same way that a parking garage is treated? also, how many gardens can a level 2 city support?

Use the treasurer's tool in my signature to find the answers! (also see links in stickied thread at top of forum)

Gardens are decorations but they do cost money to place in the city andthe citywill be charged weekly for them.

If your just starting out you might want to avoid placing them until you get a good finacial base.

we're in a very good financial situation in our city.

we are currently a 122k per week city, with over 2.5 million credits in the treasury (thanks to several VERY GENEROUS benefactors)

ok, from what i've gathered from the sticky, i THINK that gardens are treated like a Garage, and not a Streetlight, but could someone please just let me know the answer, because i don't see a clear definitive answer.

is a garden considered one of the 20 decorations i am allowed to place at level 2, or can i place a garden after using up all 20 decorations?

also, how many gardens can a level 2 city have (without taking cost into account, as that is a different matter).

They are a decoration as far as I can tell. My politican toon has hit the cap on decorations, and the only thing I've placed thus far is streelamps, gardens, and terminals.

Gardens are considered civic structures. For a level two city I believe you are allowed 20 decorations and 13 civic structures. So if you have the city hall, bankand garage, you can place 10 gardens. On top of that you can place 20 streetlights, fountains and statues.

The way I calculate it is that anything that takes maintenance from the city treasury is a civic structure, everything else is a decoration.

That statement is kind of confusing since everything takes money from the treasury but only civic structures have an actual maintenance associated with them... ie: no money in treasury the civic structures start to decay.

Thank you for the explanation. this means that when the city updates in a day or so, i can place both small and medium gardens in town. as a mayor of a Lokian town, it's quite disheartening to see all of the rocks and other ugly things that cannot be removed from the city. luckily placing some gardens around the city will help improve theasthetic (sp?)appeal of my city.

since our Master architect is out for military training in Guam all this month, i'll need to find an architect on lowca that can make me a few parks.

thanks again for the good news
