Thread: Decrease park maintenance with skill
Hiya, I'm posting here a bit in bursts because the forums wont work on my computer back on the dorm but will work in computer centers. I dont go to them so...
Well I understand the reasons for structures to be placed at the different ranks even if I'd prefer a shuttleport to be at rank 3 (after all at lvl 4 you pretty much have everything and shuttleports are what get you people you dont really need anymore) But from the sounds of QA ville parks and other beautification structures, pretty much the only truecivic structuresthat are worthwhile at lower ranks, are pretty pricey. Now I understand that cities are supposed to be exclusive and require alot of organization to aquire, need a good sized population to be worthwhile and somewhat self sufficient.
But I"ll be damned if I can't drop enough parks, statues, and fountains to make the place look nice without paying an arm, leg, vestigial horn, and tentacle. The only way that cities are going to be unique throughout the world that they are on is dependent on civic structure placement not what types of homes and where they are. People will either choose planet specific or generic, and on corellia (my native land) there is no difference.
So with the exception of how streets appear and the size of buildings how is a city unique? By its parks, its trees, its spawns, and its shuttleport bank and cloning center locations. If these are turned into high ticket items then what is a city going to be? A barren hillside/plain/plateaue with a big group of houses. Oh joy I look forward to seeing that as opposed to a big group of houses with lively and beautiful landscape intersperesed.
