A lot of people talk about the need for more interaction in cities. Or they talk about so-and-so city is a ghost town, and this city has a lot of people, but none of them interact with you. Seriously though, what are you doing to makeyour city worth visiting? I am the Imperial Magistrate of Gatica, a metropolis on Dantooine. Even though some of the below displays are still being finished up, ours is a true bastion of Imperial might. Allow me for a moment to give you a tour.
Our first stop is city hall. The mainhall is very flat in regards to color. We have twostatues,"Law" and "Order", right inside the doorways. We have all nineJTL paintings lined along the walls, as well as the fancy white benches. The Trentwell rug adorns the middle of the room, and on stage you will find two Aurillian banners(which we hope to replace with Imp ones soon), a gong, hammer, and podium. Guarding the entrance to the left room aretwo security guards with E11s. Asyou enter, you will bemet by a Lieutenant behind a desk. Looking around, you'll see a Colonel monitoring a terminal, and two technicians working on other computer terminals.Walking back out and across the room to the other side room, you will be stopped by a female officer behind a desk. (My secretary.) Once cleared, you will enter my office. Blue rug on the floor, Imperial banner behind my desk, couches in the corners, andfancy armoires against the walls. Various other nick-nacks adorn the room. But all stillvery regal, and Imperialesque.
Next to cityhall, you will find the Imperial Detainment Center and the Imperial Security Bureau's Gatica office. The DC has guards, an office, and two jail cells. In the main room we have all three wanted posters on the wall in an arc like a computer vid display. The ISB office has a main reception area, and an interrrogation room.
Across the street from City Hall you will see a rocky crag with our bank on one end, and at the highest point a Sunstatuetitled "Death Star Memorial".
North and West of City Hall are our main housing districts, (Mainly small naboos, with a tatooine "ghetto" in the far north part of town.) where you will also find occasional small gardens scattered about, and an old abandoned fort next to the river. The "River District" is also where our most notable and wealthy citizens reside, far away from the bustle of the inner city. To the East and South of City Hall, is our main "downtown" area. You will find your usual amenities, cantina, theater, garage, shuttle port, med center, and cloning center. But you will also find a large number of other buildings. Buildings such as a Galactic Mining Corporation office, District Military HQ building, three different research facilities, and on the top of a large hill, overlooking the city (and visible from the edge of another city 1300 meters away) is a generic PA Hall which servers as Dantooine's planetary government building.
We also have two museums. The art musuem which has every piece of art, crafted, looted, and rewarded in the game, and a war museum which maintains the finest collection of looted and crafted "themed" armor, weapons, and other machines of war. (Even have a light hover scifff in the makings.) Immediatly south of our shuttle port is the Gatica Open Market. Six tents in two lines, where you will find at least one of every type of vendor imaginable for your shopping needs.
The North-East corner of the city is another wealthy district. It also has Palpatine Park, which is a collection of all four exotic parks available to Dantooine. In the extrme Eastern part of the city is our guild district, with three separate guild halls lined up along another beautiful river. To the South of town is our military district, where we will soon be installing a number of military bases.
We are the closest city with a shuttle, to the Warren, so we get a lot of traffic for that. We are an Improved Job Market, so we get a lot of hunting traffic. We are a strong RP community so we have things going on all the time in regards to that. One of the biggest banes of a city is a lack of activity and/or creativity. What are some of you doing in your towns to enhance the feeling and activity?

Is this city on Kettemore? (that's what it says under your forum avatar)
i need to create a toon on whatever server this city is on, and go check it out. This sounds like an amazingly well put together city, and a fine example of order and strength that we can expect from the Empire.
I am mayor of New Kabala on Lok in the Lowca Galaxy. Our city has the distinction of having the closest parking garage to Nym's Stronghold, so that alone gets some poeple to our town. We have also started getting alot more traffic because i have started a second account who is a Master Tailor/ Almost Master Weaponsmith, and another city founder just hit Master Armorsmith, so that has started to generate traffic due to our planetary ad campaigns.
our city is typically dead, as many players have been inactive lately, or we're all out doing other things in-game.

Oh yeah. Duh. We're on Kettmoor. All of the typical city buildings are 85-100% decorated, and about half of the special buildings are. I've been trying to juggle finishing this project, working on my pilot skills, running the city, and reorganizing our guilds' stormtroopers.
But every building will be 100% complete by the end of the month when we take part in an all new GCW.

We are just under 2K east of the Imperial Outpost. But the key buildings you want to see now are the city hall, Palpatine Park. (Just walk north from the cantina and you cant miss it.) The cantina, (excuse the packs on the floor, reorganizing our warehouses and put some stuff there for temporary holding) med center, Detainment Center, and the art museum.

You may want to stop by Naritus, outside the Imperial Outpost across the river is an Imperial City, that sounds similuar, but you may want to swap ideas. It has a library, a mall with only imperial uniformed people selling stuff. I forget what else, as I just don't remember. It's not my city, so that tells you it's really neat if I'm pushing it.
My own city is TiePilot Estates. We have nothing to see or do. We like it that way. We have some vendors, but mostly we host events. It has no shuttleport so stays quiet, and a great break from the rest of the world.

I'll have to check it out. I assume you are talking about the IO on Dantooine? We were thinking of a library also, so I'll have to check them out for sure.
