It apears that the devs are thinking about rearanging some of the boards ... one of the new discussion boards is thought to be called "Towns / Housing" ... for me clearly dedicated for discussing isues about player cities.
After all ... this is actually only the profession board to talk about the politician skills ... not that much about restricions, bugs and needsof player cities that politicians just happento be mayors of - although these two topics are interlinked the profession isn't called "mayor" ... so a poltician really should have other fields to talk about than a mayor (we simply don't have any content for non-mayors ... but that would be a real politician problem)
Kinda already is somewhat complicated thinking about it ... but how do we make sure we get the right discussion in the right board so our calls are heard and understood the best way possible? What are your thoughts about this new board and about using it? I mean it's not like I wouldn't have anything to post in this new to-be board
EDIT: Forgot to link the dev-thread

I'm pretty much with DaQuilla in the confusion over the need for a new forum just for Towns/Housing (meaning Player Cities). I added my comments to the thread yesterday. I'm not "worried" about it, per se, just don't really see the need to add it when we pretty much take care of it effectively here.
To me, it just seems like Politician is so closely tied into Player Cities that there isn't any need to separate them. You can't have a Player City without a Politician. If Player Cities are technically moved into a Core System area, I don't think it's going to get the developer attention it needs. I have visions of our Top 5 issues getting picked apart because it has issues that are about Player Cities and not Politicians......

those are the same concerns I have. politician isn't a high traffic forum, and most of what we do is "deal with city issues". other corrs and myself have put in our 2 cents, so we'll see what happens.
p.s.: for those who haven't looked at the thread:

Good point. Also if one of these boards gets used primarly in the same way as an existing profession board we'd probably remove it or change it. No point in having two boards that do the same thing. We'd make that determination after the boards had a chance to settle in though.
this is pretty much the response I got (multiple times) after bringing up various concerns with separating politician and cities.

The difference is that the only people in the Politician forums are the politicians. There is (I suspect) pretty much zero representation from people who are just city inhabitants.

All the more reason to convince them not to put it in two spots.
I wouldn't do that to you. Promise!

First thing I thought of when I read over it was 'so they're combining the poli and architect forums now.' and still feel that way. It might be a good place to discuss ideas for future buildings, bugs, and such for PC's and architects in general...but that's pretty much the purpose of the prof forums. It'll either be deader then this is or morph into a forum to discuss things we don't. I just can't see it becoming the latter one myself.
And craster the only reason there aren't many citizens in here (except when mayors go wildTM) is because there is little for us to do. Answer questions, plot for the future, and gossip. That's pretty much what goes on in here and people chat it up in their galaxy forum with people they have more in commn with. Nobody is keeping them away afterall.
PS Dibs on the new correspondent spot over there
