I got really, really excited when I saw the new loot-schematic streetlamp. We're having a wedding in our city tonight and I thought it would make a perfect lighted walkway into the garden where the ceremony is going to take place....
But it can't be placed as a city decoration. It can be placed in a house and will turn on/off with the in-game time of day like other streetlamps, but no option to "Place Decoration" shows up from the mayor's inventory.
Not sure if this is a /bug or if it was never intended to be a city decoration. Doesn't make much sense if it wasn't intended to be one, though. I /bugged it in-game and in the issues thread.

I bugged it and submitted a CS Ticket, just for kicks. I will also post in Live issues.Silly in the extreme if it cannot be placed.

It'd be nice if the streetlamps in general lit up more area.
But these look nice when placed inside a Krayt's Skull and lit.

Looking at this problem, it would be nice if a mayor could place any item as a decoration ... of course adding to the decoration count of the city (which needs to be raised anyhow) ...
This would quickly enable a mayor to place public crafting stations ... Faction Banners ... Chairs and benches to really sit on ... and maybe even Vendors (as I place Vendors as info and quest giving NPCs - although this could give mayors an unfair advantage over normal merchants who have to put their vendors inside a house/tent ... therefore my argument to give politicians a special NPC quest and info vendor that doesn't really sell anything)

I really hope it's a bug since those are the best looking ones in the game in my opinion. Cast the light up and backlight stuff without anything visible rather than having a pole in the middle of it all shining downward. Can't wait to light up my cities POI arch bases with 'em and some other spots too.

I'd like more decorations/less upkeep charges. Benches/picnic tables/etc would be nice. I also like the being able to place "quest givers" in the city. Even if it is only (a criminal) or (a scientist).
