My concerns is if you live contentedly in arural area next to a pre-existingcity, that someone can come in and put a cityhall down - and effectively be mayor for a week without the people in that area having any recourse other then to vote them out of office a week later.

In the meantime the taxation could be quite grevious to the local denizens, such as crafters or anyone with a PA hall and other high maintanence buildings. With taxes high enough themiscreant could raise enough credits to just buy another hall and move elsewhere when his week is up and the citizens are ready to lynch him.

Will the onlyway to protect yourself from this be toplace your cityhall first?

Considering the exceedingly large number of resource needed to build a city hall I don't see this happening. It would be very difficult to do anyway.

Oh I knew I forgot something else... Taxation and election happen I believe at the same time. (Someone correct me please.. Plink?) So therefore, if he did levy a huge tax, and he was voted out, he wouldn't be able to do anything about it. So the best he could do is grief players, but he'd be griefing himself at the same time.
