This sounds quite reasonable. See my post in the thread by our Correspondent about why this is necessary (only possible to get 1/3 of your town maintenance through taxes at start).

Yes. Since in theory the best RL politicians are able to increase the fiscal efficiency of their entities (cities, nations, etc), a Master Politician should be able to have lower maintainence costs on city buildings. It makes a great deal of sense.

Thought and question:

If you are a politican and Merchant, do you get cheaper City Maintance Costs? Since technicaly while youre mayor, they are your structures.

only problem: new mayors will NEVER get elected...

Novice Mayor 1 is running against Master mayor 2, master mayor 2 is able to reduce city costs by 20% due to his skills...who are YOU going to vote for??

Simple as that, the merchants have skill to lower structure matinence costs, why not have high level mayors have the ability to lower city costs.

It's the Politician's skill that enables him to place the buildings that drive maintenance costs so high. All this would be doing is rewarding every Politician for skills they already have to have anyway. If you do not feel your city will be able to support the costs of the structures available, perhaps you should consider not building those structures.

Bad idea, see the couple of posts above for the reason, they covered it.
