Thread: Question regarding FAction Bases and cities
I already saw in the answers thread that they will be allowing faction bases near cities, and that the militia could be enlisted to aid in the defense with the /warn command. I thought at one point i read that players could be banned from cities. Therefore, if your faction base was in the middle of your city, and you banned anyone from the opposite faction, your base would be in effect unattackable. Especially if you placed turrets near the border of your city, they could fire out, without retribution, since you couldnt get close enough to attack them. Do i have some facts wrong? or is this going to be a problem?
Thanks for your time
This is actually up in the air. I dont have the exact quote handy but GreenMarine ( Dev responsilbe for PCs) says that HQs will "probably" be allowed. The /ban command doesnt force people out of your city boundry, it just disallowes them from using city structures (bank, cantina, etc...)
Theoretically, this won't be much of an issue if you think about it. Militia are just mobile covert scanners in this case. I wonder, though, how the TEFing a neutral will work against aligned turrets and NPC's. That would be interesting. But considering I'm starting an Imperial City, I shouldn't have a problem. The /ban would work awesome for shuttle and cloning center. The other question I'm waiting to hear an answer from is aligned Cloning Centers. I'm assuming this will be with the Strategic Base, but when will we be able to declare our city and make it's cloning center aligned as well? That would be interesting.
