Thread: Problem setting up the player city
Hey folks,
Set up a new player city after Kauri opened up and got the new player city email and my buildings/structures were added. Went to the city managementterminal, no access. Tried to register for mayor, said I needed to be a citizen. Ran back to my house to make certain I was declared... I wasn't so I did so. Now the status says declared. Still not a citizen. Is there a step I'm missing there?
Thanks for any advice on it.

Did you place the city hall yourself? If so, then you should automatically become the mayor and a citizen of the city. You shouldn't have to declare in your house. If this is not what happened, then you something didn't work the way it should and you should try to get CSR help.
Thanks for the reply... I did do all of that and have opened a CSR ticket.
Thanks again!

Got the same problem on Kauri as well, the city isn't really created, the city management terminal only has the examine option, the structure management terminal for the city hall only has the destroy option. I can't run for mayor since it says I am not a declared citizen (my house is located within 150 meters and I'm declared resident). There are more than 10 houses within the city limits.

Well the thing is there isn't even an option to pay for the maintenance, and you don't get any message when you go in/out of the city (crossing the 150 meters limit). There are outposts out there that actually allow anyone to see their status, so this does sound like a big mean bug...

Besides nobody can run for mayor... Even in an outpost you're supposed to elect the mayor !

Nope, you are right, you are supposed to have an election:
* Player Outposts: This is the first evolution of a player city and begins with a city hall. Originally outposts could tax their residents and were counted in the initial (and temporary) planet cap. Instead, we are going to raise the population count of outposts to 10 and outposts will no longer count against the planetary cap. Now, small groups of players will be able to keep and maintain their Outpost Cities (which we feel is very Star Warsy). From there, it will be the responsibility of the players to vote for their mayors and grow their city. City Growth Cycle 2 and above will keep existing rules and taxation rules will be in effect.
