Thread: Tiggs wont' answer the Politician Resignation question either. Surprise.

Since Tiggs seems to be the best person to ask questions to, I asked her about the resignation problem. What sense does it make to have it so you cannot get out of the position voluntarily? Why is it this way? Will there ever be a change?
She won't answer the question either. Same as everyone else.
Why even have this profession if you aren't even going to support it? To be told that there just aren't enough players in this position to justify spending time on it is rediculous. Maybe.....just maybe....there aren't that many because it sucks to be a mayor and once you get in, it's almost impossible to get out!

i would have to agree with you on this. there has been many time where i have wanted to resign as mayor of either of the cities that i ran. Once you start it, you end up gettin locked into unless you can find someone that is willing to take over. it makes it even harder when you have a ton of close friends that inhabit the town and you dont want to disappoint them by leavin them high and dry. i myself cant do that, but god only knows i have threatened to leave a few times. my guys know when im gettin upset and usually help me take care of things when it happens. in the end though, i think there should be an option to resign so that you dont feel like you are locked into the profession forever.

I wonder why they dont see the importance of the politician profession. There are so VERY few of us, and we do so VERY much for the players of the communitites we manage. They should be giving us more attention than other professions as our profession can effect every other professsion every day.
We are on the front lines of customer support -- though they will never recognize how much we do for them.

There's a difference between recognizing poli's as being important and recognizing that there are major issues in the game that need to be resolved before other things can even be looked at. They probably realize our impact on the world however they also realize the impact combat has in the game and that needs a bit more precedence. I'm sure they have a million and one things they want to and will try to do to us but they only have so many hours in the week and when it comes to it, executive decisions have to be made. Fix combat so 60% + of the players are happy or add tools to 1% of the players that can use it to add content and appease 80% of the player base for a short time?
Things'll get better. JtL is coming out how soon? After that it's nothing but fixing and improving the game.

The pessimist in me wants to say "until the next expansion pack", but in the end I have to agree with you on this. I have more hope now than I've had in a while.

Yes and they are going to announce their idea for the next expansion fairly soon however I doubt that one is going to have the same "in 1 year from this date" timeline from the marketting department. The way that I, and it seems the developers as well, see it the space expansion isn't actually an expansion it is the final piece to the puzzle, the last half of the game. What is Star Wars without the stars afterall? After they get the expansion out the game will be whole so they can focus on doing everything they want for the game as it stands and then work on adding on to it via expansions later on. Right now the core of the game is about to be finalized so from here on out it's nothing but improvements for the game.
