that's a great idea
you might run out of places to put statues though eventually
are you gonna charge a "renewal fee"?

Ya that is a nice idea, i might consider that as well. Wish we could have Street signs or something like a Sign to hang.

I never thought of renewal fees........although I probably won't do that.
The biggest problem I've had with this system is that rival party members will claim I'm pocketing the donation money and a renewal fee would only add wood to that fire.
I don't believe I'll run out of room to place statues because my city has about 80 people and only about 50 of them are rich enough to afford statues. Of those 50 only about half actually bought into the program. This means I would only need spots for 25 statues. Those spaceswere easily available on the outside perimeter of the Cityhall. Now take into account the 1mil price per statue, and the 500k per street sign. Twice as many people bought street signs as they did statues, so again my city made about 50mil in one week.

Nice idea! You wouldn't happen to be the mayor of Warlord City, would you?

I run a level 4 city on Dantooine and recently erected a couple statues in my Cityhall in honor of past mayors. Afterwards some newbs wanted to have their own statues put up. I refused because I would not degrade fellow mayors by putting newb statues in a place of honor. Anyway, I sarcastically said, "ok I'll put up your statues if you donate a million credits to our city treasury". Much to my surprise they did it! I erected their statues along the outside wall of the Cityhall facing outward and got to thinking, "Hey if these guys can donate so much to keep our city going, what would everyone else do?"
I sent out a city e-mail telling everyone that for 500k they could have a street named after them and for 1 million credits they could have a statue put up. I asked everyone to send the money directly to me so I could keep a running tab of who donated what and what was to be given back. Also by giving the money to me I was able to ensure no fraudulant donations were made and reported.
Within a week, my city was 50mil richer and I had fully decorated perimeter of my cityhall with statues. I get about 5mil a week now just from new recruits alone. I was able to abolish all taxes and even donate some money to local guildhouses.
I hope this helps someone else. Let me know what you think and any suggestions on how to make it better. Thank you

Yeah, this works well, I've done is in the past. But didn't really advertise it because I knew we'd quickly run out of decoration slots....
Sadly, I only charged 100k each instead ofa million, doh! So we're not rich.
