This is a though that a friend of mine had and i think its a good idea.
The current voting system in the game is based of the democratic voting system.
Although my city is an Imperial ONLY city and our guild is run dictator style with only one leader (and his commanders) the main leader has the ability to veto any idea the guild has if he does not like it and that rule is made clear to the members of the guild as they enter the guild....and if they are not happy with the system they can leave at any time.
So iin the case of our City is was build under the ideal that the City was OWNED buy the guild and the houses in it where only to be owned by guild members and Imperials.
I have run the city since day one and the rules for the city was simple the guild leader owned the city and the guild.
But with the new system making it easer to vote anyone INC mayor out this changed the rules for the city.
What i dont understand is why that are not diffrent (types) of governments. Why can't my city be declared a Dictator Imperial/rebel city?Or just a sol ruler city.As we all know that the Empire is NOT A DEMOCRATIC SYSTEM its more of a Dictator/Fascist system.
Why can't a Mayor Pick there Government system.
----------
Under Dictator system the city would run under the old rules...
- Where everyone would have to overthrough the government if they where unhappy.
-INC mayor gets all votes automaticly but would grant only at50 exp for everyone in the city
-Unlike Democratic rule as getting peoplehave tovotewhich ismore of a time consuming task..under dictatorship the 750exp per week would NOT BE GAINED).
- Vote takes place every 3 weeks.
(so positives for this system is that the City is more secure to the current owners of the city..but gaining EXP is a longer process).
Under the Democratic system the new current system is in play where all the members of the city play an active roll in what direction the city is taking. (The new system as it is now would be in effect).
- 300 EXP for every vote.
-750 EXP a week for INC Mayor.
(under these rules changing hands of a city is easer.. but EXP gained is better)
------------------
Personaly i liked the old system better but i guess the dev's want pol's to work harder for EXP so that why the systems i have here are basedoff of the new exp rules..
---------------------
The people who are joing the city can easly make up there minds on which system of government they want to live under....if they are not happy with dictator style then they don't move there they look fo a democratic city... and vice versa..
This would allow guilded cities to not have to worry about outside influnces as mutch....and the city would remain under the control of the guild that built it....In most cases.
Some citys have more then one guild under the roof a one city....the democratic system alows one guild to take control over the city is they have the people and want to...but if under the Dictator system...(auto INC votes..even if auto votes didnt give exp so that thte mayor would have to get people to vote) at least they mayor would not losse office unless he it truly outvoted.
----------------------
AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD...ADD RESIGN to the mayor options!!!!! (for Both systems if this type of thing was implemented)
If the INC mayor wants out then all they have to do is have someone run against them and then hit the resign button....boom next update day the New mayor takes over...or even takes over right away!!!
If the dev's want to make Pol. have more flavor then when not give us more then one governement!!
Please comment on this IDEA as feedback would be nice

I agree. You should be able to choose from different forms of government. Infact, I made a post about it...I'll paste it here....
::
People obviously feel different on how much control Politicians should have over what...so why not havedifferent forms of government that can be CHOSEN UPON FOUNDING OF THE CITY? Lots of people feel a democracy is the only way to go...others feel that the founder or founders should have control over the city that they have worked so hard to create - whether they worked alone or with all of the citizens I suppose determines whether their desire to have full control is just or not.The best way to handle this would be to try and accomodate everyone....using different forms of goverment. OPTIONS = BETTER If you don't like the form of government of a city, don't join!
Democracy - Much the same as we have now, except with restrictions to prevent griefing. 1) Mayor could not disband city. 2) Easier to elect a new mayor.
Republic -Several chosenrepresentatives(Politicians) that work as a collaboration of "mayors". The biggest benefit of this government is that youwould not necessarily need Master Politician anymore (or rather all four branches). If you have, say, four Senators running the city each could be responsible for a singlebranchof Politician. Infact, an actual position can be offered for each branch: Fiscal, Civic, Martial, and Urban Design. The delegate chosen to fill the Fiscal seat would manage taxes and be responsible for Registering City/Placing Bank/Shuttleport. The delegate chosen to fill the Civic seat would - in addition to being responsible for everything the Civic branch already has - be able to create player-city missions....after all this branch does have "Jobs" and "Job Policies"...it would make sense that this is where you would obtain the ability to create player misions. The delegate chosen to be the Martial, or Warmaster, would be head of security or the city's armed forces. (Though I'm not sure how useful this would be in neutral cities or cities that are not involved in PVP...as /citywarn is now gone). Finally, the delegate chosen to fill the position of Urban Planner would be responsible for decorating the city....this would really be nice as well as some people are very good leaders....but have no sense of style. The delegates or senators can be either voted out by the citizens or by the majority of each other. 3 voting one out, for example.
Dictatorship - This would give the Politician absolute control over the city. Register to run inan election against the Dictator would be impossible, unless the Dictator allowed it. This form of government would be best suited for those who feel that it is their hard work and dedication that makes the city possible and they should not have to worry about it being taken from them simply because someone else wants to take over, or because of guild dramas...etc. Of course, like all of the governments, it would be chosen upon foundation of the city...and any players who do not want to live in a town where a Dictatorship is the form of government would simply not join the town..(whether the leader is benevolent or not --but really...how long would a malevolent dictator's city last?)
Again, the form of government would be chosen upon the founding of the city....and would not change unless the majority of CITIZENS voted for a change. Except in a Dictatorship, where only the Dictator could change the form of government.
This would make it impossible for a tyrant to waltz into democratic or republic city and change the government...and would also ensure that the dictatorship remains that way.
