Thread: How Close to a Major city can you place a City Hall?

Was thinking of placing a city hall if i could near coronet or theed, but how close to the line around these citys can you place one?

Player Cities can not be placed closer then 1000m to each other. My assumption is that this is the same, or close, as with static cities.
At the very least, the City Hall should be about 500m away from the border. Since, if you city does well, your radius will reach 450m.

Be careful when placing a city near a major hub of commerce, the merchants in the neighborhoods may not like being in the city and subject to taxes. A Certain mayor did this on Starsider near Coronet and upset many merchants.

ok, i am 1800 from theed starport, on the border line, do you think i can place on here, not really interested in growing towards theed jsutbeing able to decorate around me mall? Granted have to have a city slot open up, but just curious to know if this is something that can be done?

city hall can be placed 1 km out i believe... as long as its at least 1 km out in all directions from other cities... however if you building on a border keep in mind you lose a massive amount of building space... since you won't be able to build toward a static city... the same applies for POIs though the distance is usually about 200m or so so its not so bad... also keep in mind you're going to have to have 10 people declare residence (ON THE DAY) you drop city hall... or you will poof... you can't force people to become citizens of you city and pay your taxes etc anymore...

Depends on the major city! My city hall which is 800m from the dantooine mining outpost when it expands to the highest level its borders will be 350m away. That should answer your question. Really depends on planet and major city there is no specified number.
